We met the organist and hear him play sitting around him. Learnt about the pipes and the sounds they make. Amazing experience of hearing the music up and close Also visited the beautiful cathedral. Must do.
Thank you for your kind feedback. We are delighted to hear you enjoyed the unique opportunity to meet the organist, experience the music up close, and visit the beautiful cathedral.
Not worth the money and effort The whole “concert” is 15 minutes long He played 2 pieces only Better way to experience this music is regular seating inside the Basilica without paying much more to be seated right next to the organ player
Amazing this little concert with the organist who explains the instrument and plays just for us, 7 people. The visit of the Basilica and the Dome (2 lifts to follow) are also essential for a stay in Budapest. Great writer.
The organ concert was beautiful. Just too expensive, you could check the entry ticket time and be there for free essentially rather than $180 CAD
Unique experience to take close look into an organ. The performance was impressive. The organist was friendly and professional
Thank you for your feedback! We are glad you enjoyed the unique experience of seeing the organ up close and found the performance impressive. It is wonderful to hear that the organist was friendly and professional.
Wonderful, unique experience to be hosted by organist explaining his instrument then hearing 30-minute concert virtuoso performance
Outstanding performance 👏 The organist was so personable, knowledgeable and his music ability is unbelievable. What a performance. Limited number of seats. The setting in the Basilica is serene.
Thank you for your wonderful feedback! We’re delighted you enjoyed the organist’s performance and the serene Basilica setting. It truly was a special experience.
Amazing opportunity! A lovely concert and behind-the-scenes explanation from the very kind organist. The concert was incredible: spell binding and moving. Afterward we climbed to the top for a fantastic view.
Thank you for your wonderful feedback! We’re glad you enjoyed the concert and the organist’s insights, as well as the stunning view afterward.
We arrived at the church at about 6:00pm after enduring a 6 hour bus tour of Budapest. We located the ticket office on the street adjacent to the church and tried to exchange our Tripadvisor vouchers for tickets only to discover that the organ concert was at 10:00am. As far as I could tell this bit of critical information was no where to be found on the voucher. The ladies at the ticket office were gracious enough to exchange our voucher for tickets to visit the church and to see the surrounding area on the overlook near the top of the church dome. As an unexpected bonus they gave us free tickets for a full hour-long organ concert the following night, which was fantastic and much better than the 15 minute presentation we paid for. We were very happy and much appreciated their generosity.
We are happy to hear that eventually it all worked out! If you ever come back to Budapest, check out our other programs at the Basilica as well!
The organist was friendly, informative and an incredible musician. He explained the function and workings of the organ and took questions and comments. The concert was fabulous with many styles and eras of organ music, even playing Bach's Toccata in D minor. This was a top experience of our European trip.
We are really glad that we could participate in your European tours and contribute such an experience to your travels. Thank you very much for your kind feedback and we wish you all the best for your exploration of other countries.
