Descrizione
Esplora una Bari segreta con un archeologo esperto tra tesori nascosti di epoca romana, paleocristiana e bizantina. Il tour inizia presso gli scavi della Via Traiana in Piazza del Ferrarese, un breve tratto della storica strada costruita dai romani nei primi anni del II secolo d.C., fino a raggiungere il Museo Archeologico di Santa Scolastica. Il tour prosegue verso la Cattedrale di San Sabino, un prezioso esempio di romanico pugliese, che cela nei suoi ambienti ipogei un itinerario archeologico di grande suggestione conosciuto come Succorpo. Il tour termina nella imponente e solenne Basilica di San Nicola, simbolo dell’unione tra Oriente e Occidente, che custodisce le reliquie del Santo. Compatibilmente con orari di apertura delle aree museali e disponibilità, durante il tour saranno visitabili due dei seguenti siti archeologici: Palazzo Simi, Castello Svevo, Cripta Basilica, Succorpo Cattedrale, Museo Santa Scolastica.

Elegante “casa palaziata” cinquecentesca con corte centrale, ambienti di servizio al pianterreno e piano nobile accessibile da una scalinata.
Aree archeologica che nel 1960 ha riportato alla luce un mosaico pavimentale con una interessante iscrizione di epoca paleocristiana (V-VI sec.)
Il monastero medievale benedettino di Santa Scolastica, con l’annesso bastione cinquecentesco, oggi rinnovata sede del Museo archeologico della Città Metropolitana di Bari, accoglie il visitatore all’estremità settentrionale di quel museo diffuso per densità e varietà di valori architettonici, archeologici, artistici e storici che è la Città vecchia.

Imponente fortezza risalente al XII secolo, oggi adibita a sede museale. Ubicato ai margini del centro storico, nei pressi dell’area portuale e della Cattedrale, con la sua mole rappresenta uno dei più importanti e noti monumenti della città.

A fantastic glimpse into the history of the old town of Bari from a very knowledgeable guide. The museums were so interesting made better by the narrative of an archeological expert. Would be happy to recommend

The archaeological tour was unavailable for the date I booked and as I didn’t have other times available they swapped it for the city walking tour and food tour. Our guide Ana was super friendly and very knowledgeable and informative and the whole experience was great! I felt that I learned a lot about Bari and each of the sites and the food included was delicious, great quality and ample Would definitely recommend!

Viviana gave a wonderful personalized tour. Her personal experience of Bari and her deep connection with the sites we saw were superlative. I HIGHLY recommend this tour and was very happy that I was able to participate in it. During our visit to Bari we encountered quite a bit of rain but that didn’t deter our guide Viviana! We opted for the Underground tour of Bari which included the Roman ruins as well as the inside of the most important churches. It was informative and you can tell that Viviana is very passionate about her city and the art and culture within!
