Di fronte al quartiere Vila Olímpica, è stato costruito nel 1990 durante la riqualificazione di questa zona di Barcellona. Il porto turistico è stato progettato dagli architetti Oriol Bohigas, Josep Martorell, David Mackay e Albert Puigdomènech. La città aveva bisogno di un porto turistico sportivo che soddisfacesse gli standard più esigenti, ed è stata la sede delle gare di vela durante i Giochi Olimpici del 1992. Il porto turistico dispone di 756 posti barca per yacht e il suo ingresso è visibile da qualsiasi punto di Barcellona. I due grattacieli ai lati sono la Mapfre Tower e l'Hotel Arts, con alla base la spettacolare scultura di pesci rossi di Frank Gehry, e nelle vicinanze, il Gran Casino de Barcelona. Gli amanti degli sport acquatici possono praticare lo yachting o altri tipi di tecniche di vela qui, e in estate, le spiagge su entrambi i lati del porto turistico - Somorrostro e Nova Icària - sono il luogo perfetto per prendere il sole o per un tuffo rinfrescante in mare.
La scultura Fish dell’architetto Frank Gehry, vincitore del Premio Pritzker nel 1989, è diventata uno dei simboli della Barcellona post-olimpica e sembra che stia galleggiando sulle acque del Mediterraneo. La luce del sole si riflette nelle squame di questa scultura che presiede il lungomare della Marina Olimpica e delle spiagge di Barcellona. Nel 1992, l'incontaminata Barcellona olimpica stava trasformando il suo lungomare. Stava prendendo forma una nuova Marina Olimpica, presieduta dalle sue torri gemelle. Port Vell, letteralmente in inglese "Porto Vecchio" è un porto sul lungomare di Barcellona, Catalogna, Spagna, e parte del Porto di Barcellona. È stato costruito come parte di un programma di rinnovamento urbano prima delle Olimpiadi di Barcellona del 1992. Prima di allora, era un'area fatiscente di magazzini vuoti, scali ferroviari e fabbriche. 16 milioni di persone visitano il complesso ogni anno È oggi un punto focale della città e un'attrazione turistica, contenente il Maremàgnum (un centro commerciale contenente negozi, un cinema multisala, bar e ristoranti), IMAX Port Vell e il più grande acquario d'Europa contenente 8000 pesci e 11 squali contenuti in 22 bacini riempiti con sei milioni di litri di acqua di mare. Unforgettable trip with the French captain Marie who knows Barcelona very well and was able to advise us for other cultural and tourist outings! The guitarist was at the top, he could play songs of his choice or ours, a treat! And a dive of the boat in the open sea for all those who wanted it was particularly appreciated by my whole family, really we recommend 100 percent! Thank you again.

This sunset sail with an amazing live guitar musician was just the highlight of our whole trip !!! The sea was gentle and the breeze just enough to set the sails and navigate away from the city to get the perfect views of the skyline of Barcelona. Amazing experience : very peaceful. The live music added the perfect touch of chill, excellent musician. Our captain Mary has been very nice and provided us explanations of the main sightseeings and some recomendation for going out. We really recommend this trip in music : don't miss it !!!

Unforgettable experience with Marie, an adorable French captain who knows Barcelona perfectly and was able to advise us for other visits! The excellent guitarist delighted us by playing songs at our request and others of his choice that perfectly matched the Mood of the sunset... icing on the cake, we were able to swim in the open sea by diving from the boat, really an outing that we recommend to all those who pass through Barcelona and want to experience something exceptional

We wanted for our wedding anniversary to take the sun , the sea, the sea, and we were delighted, Captain Marie from our arrival is very welcoming, smiling , bubbly, listening to our desires. It was great, we could ask the guitarist for the melodies, music we wanted. Purely awesome, especially at sunset with the guitar in the background, awesome. Captain Marie very discreet and always present, very pleasant, you can go with your eyes closed.
