Band of Brothers a Bastogne da Amsterdam

In un solo giorno vedrai i luoghi chiave che danno una buona impressione della Battaglia delle Ardenne. Vedremo un German Panther Tank, il bunker dove le truppe di Patton raggiunsero Bastogne, McAuliffe Place con la statua del Generale e uno Sherman Tank, il Mardasson Memorial con l'iconico Bastogne War Museum. Naturalmente visitiamo le trincee di Easy Coy, 506PIR, 101st Airborne Division, la famosa Band of Brothers e il villaggio di Foy, preso nel gennaio 1945. Ma tieni presente che è a 3,5 ore di auto da Bastogne senza ritardi dovuti al traffico. Faremo una pausa caffè e la guida porterà una lattina di caffè e dell'acqua in bottiglia.

Dal Bois Jacques seguiremo le orme di Easy Company, Band of Brothers presso il villaggio di Foy. Da lì andiamo a Grandmenil. A Grandmenil l'avanzata della 2ª SS Panzerdivision, punta di diamante tedesca, fu fermata. Questo carro armato Panther ne è testimone

Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and enthusiastic about military history. He made some really great recommendations on further reading and understanding of the battle.

Jip is a great tour guide and driver. He drove my wife and I from Amsterdam to Bagstone. We had a great tour and discussion during the drive from military to general history of ancient and modern Europe. Highly recommend Jip and this tour!

Jip Meijer was fantastic. He gave us detailed explanations complete with pictures and maps. This is the second visit to a WWII sight in less than a year with my teenage kids and both times we did a tour like the one Jip did and they were engaged from the start. My recommendation would be to stay the night down there and really take in all the culture, sites and restaurants but a day trip from Amsterdam or Brussels is very doable if that’s all the time you have.
