Partendo da Aberdeen ripercorriamo il fiume Dee fino a Balmoral dove si possono percorrere le orme di generazioni di Reali che hanno chiamato questa tenuta casa. * Balmoral Estate è chiuso dal 9 agosto 26 fino ai primi di ottobre 2026. Visitiamo il villaggio di Braemar e il castello opzionale di Braemar. Fate una passeggiata nell'affascinante villaggio vittoriano di Ballater, esplorate il patrimonio locale, la stazione ferroviaria vittoriana e la vista sulla zona. Successivamente, visiteremo l'iconico ponte sospeso Cambus O'May, prima di continuare il nostro viaggio verso il Tomnavarie Stone Circle. Infine, sulla via del ritorno ad Aberdeen, ci fermiamo alle viste preferite della Regina Vittoria sull'Aberdeenshire.

Il villaggio vittoriano di Ballater si trova nel cuore del Royal Deeside, all'ingresso orientale del Parco Nazionale dei Cairngorms, rendendolo uno dei luoghi turistici più panoramici della Scozia. Il ponte sospeso Cambus O' May attraversa il fiume Dee ed è un'eredità della tenuta di Alexander Gordon. Costruita nel 1905, la passerella è lunga 50 metri e trasporta i visitatori dall'altra parte. La Deeside Way, un sentiero che segue l'ex ferrovia Deeside, passa l'estremità nord-orientale del ponte. Sentieri dal ponte conducono al bosco di Torphantrick e alla riserva naturale Muir of Dinnet, luoghi famosi per i visitatori che amano le passeggiate nei boschi e il nuoto selvaggio nel fiume.
Tomnaverie è un cerchio di pietre sdraiato, una sorta di monumento che si trova solo nella Scozia nord-orientale. La loro caratteristica è una grande pietra su un lato, fiancheggiata da due pietre verticali, solitamente sull'arco sud o sud-ovest del cerchio. Il cerchio di pietre circonda un tumulo risalente a circa 4.500 anni fa. Si sa relativamente poco sul motivo per cui abbiamo queste strutture, ci sono diverse teorie che scoprirai durante la tua visita.
Appena fuori Tarland si trova la Queen's View, secondo quanto riferito una delle viste preferite della regina Vittoria sull'Howe of Cromar verso Lochnagar. Ci fermeremo ad ammirare il panorama e in una buona giornata, dove puoi vedere 12 diverse colline e Munro!

The gardens of Balmoral are magnificent. It is an enchanting place. The tour is a small group, which makes everything easier. Very happy that the vehicle was air-conditioned, as it was a particularly hot day today. We had enough time to do and see everything that was presented without feeling rushed, but we would have taken an extra hour at Balmoral to have time to eat there. Our guide Jacqueline was interesting and knew her route well. We recommend visiting the ballroom, as we could not do the castle tour which requires a reservation very far in advance. This one being much more expensive and requires getting to the castle on your own, preferably by car, public transport is limited in this area.

Balmoral is not an extravagant castle or setting. One could imagine it as a place for quiet contemplation. The gardens reflect the climate of Balmoral and are not filled with fancy rose bushes. It represents a creative and useful garden for the household.
We are sorry to see you didn't enjoy your tour with us. We will liaise with the guide who took the tour to determine if anything could be done differently.
Guide excellent. Balmoral experience is not good value when compared with other Castles, eg Stirling. No Guided information, restricted access only to 1 room with photos forbidden. Would not recommend Balmoral. Deeside leg was interesting and informative.
We are sorry to hear you found your visit to Balmoral Castle disappointing, we do mention in the tour description that only the ballroom is open visitors. We can appreciate you would have liked to see more of the building, there are special interior tour tickets, however the interior tour times don't generally work with our schedule. We are glad to see the guide on the day was excellent and that the rest of the day's tour was good.

An amazing day visiting so many scenic places! Jacqueline was an excellent and knowledgeable guide! Loved Balmoral Castle and surrounding estate! Such a serene place--no wonder the royal family loves vacationing here! Thoroughly enjoyed our stop in the quaint town of Balleter for lunch. The Cambus O'May suspension bridge was in beautiful wooded area overlooking the river Dee. The Tomnaverie Stone Circle was on the top of a hill overlooking a beautiful valley--a very spiritual place. Our final stop was the Queen's View, which offered wonderful view of the area we had just visited. Highly recommend this tour!
