In piedi appena fuori le mura della città, i viaggiatori godono di una vista verso il centro storico mentre esplorano edifici monumentali modellati dagli sconvolgimenti politici degli anni '20. Quest'area riflette un periodo di transizione — dall'impero all'indipendenza, e subito dopo, il dominio sovietico — in cui l'architettura è stata utilizzata per esprimere potere, ordine e modernità.
Qui si discute di come il realismo socialista, ha contribuito al processo di costruzione della nazione per gli azeri, ma anche l'arte e l'architettura in Azerbaigian SSR.
L'incrocio tra le strade Samad Vurgun e Nizami è una delle strade più trafficate di Baku con una splendida vista dell'architettura stalinista degli anni '50.
La via Nizami è il centro centrale per lo shopping e l'intrattenimento della moderna Baku. 800 m di 3,5 km di strada sono privi di traffico ed è una delle zone più trafficate della città, piena di gente che si prende il tempo dopo il lavoro per stressarsi e rilassarsi in ristoranti, negozi e sale da concerto e teatri.

Il Parco Dənizkənarı Milli, noto anche come Parco Nazionale, è una passeggiata fondata nel 1909, che corre parallela al lungomare di Baku. The guide cancelled the tour without explanation just a few hours before it was set to begin. I had planned my final day in Baku around being in position for the tour, so this was unfortunately disruptive.
We took the Russian Architecture tour of Baku with Gani. It was really great! Gani knows so much about the city and all the different periods of architecture. He is very easy to talk with and answers every question you ask. We Learned a lot about current events too. We highly recommend this tour and Gani in particular.
This is an amazing tour, full of interesting information about many of the buildings in Baku, and the influence that the Soviet government had on the design of buildings. You will also get a sense of life under Soviet rule. A must do tour.
Our first day in Baku is memorable we meet Gani our tour guide whom he walk with us and share a very detailed information about the history, culture, architecture and etc. of Baku. Gani is extremely knowledgeable, patience and kind to answers all the questions. He even recommend about places to visit, restaurants to go to, food to try. He is definitely the best :) On 2nd day, by far this is the best trip as we indulge the local food in Khinalug village and we get to experience the beautiful mountains and warm weather. Kudos to Ulkar, our tour guide she is knowledgeable and lovely. We get to meet her family and spend dinner with them, even share our stories about Baku,my country Philippines and where I currently live now. Highly recommended! We explored the central streets of Baku by covering modern history, culture and people. The recomendation about local popular places where people hang out diving into Baku nightlife are perfect. The guide was very helpful and asnwered all our questions.
I have never seen Baku with such interesting and rich multicultural history. Our guide did a great job to explore Baku from soviet time with link to modern popular culture. This such a insightful tour of central street. Recommend with all all my heart.
The stories about Baku gave us a clear understading of thr lqst 100s years of the city's development and modern pop culture. The tour had great atmpsphere and friendly attitude. I loved it.
The content is rich with societal and cultural insights into medern society of Baku, the route is visually appealing. It was worthy every minute. The guide adapt the tour and speed to need of group and it was mever russhed. Recommended!
