Orheiul Vechi ("Old Orhei") è uno spettacolare complesso archeologico situato a circa 60 km a nord-est di Chişinău tra i villaggi di Trebujeni e Butuceni. Questa bellissima valle delimitata dal fiume Răut, è uno dei siti turistici più famosi del paese. Il panorama è incredibilmente bello. Ci sono molti vecchi edifici risalenti a periodi diversi. Antiche fortezze scavate nella roccia, i resti di una moschea e monasteri cristiani rendono il sito un eccezionale rappresentante della ricca e movimentata storia della regione. Un piccolo museo locale fornisce tutte le informazioni necessarie ai visitatori.
Il monastero di Curchi è uno dei monumenti più significativi dell'architettura moldava. Si trova nella regione di Orhei, a 55 km da Chisinau, la capitale; sul lato destro della valle dei Vatici, ai piedi del bosco chiamato "Codru". Questo complesso monastico ha una storia culturale e religiosa di due secoli e mezzo ed è considerato il luogo di culto più bello e più famoso della Bessarabia. La posizione del monastero di Curchi è di raro splendore grazie alla natura che lo circonda. Si bagna in un mare verde e si immerge in un favoloso contrasto con le sue pareti bianche e rosse.

A really good tour to beautiful and peaceful locations. Our guide was excellent and knowledgeable. The monastery was highlight. Such stunning surroundings. This is a wonderful way to explore Moldova outside of the capital. A really real ‘must’ for including, in any visit to Chisinau.
Very pleasant visit with my family, our very professional and patient guide. Made us a very complete story about Moldovan history, and showed us well around the village ... The restaurant where have it stopped for lunch was excellent, typical cuisine as well as the very warm setting.
My cousin and I had a wonderful time on our trip to Orhei Vechi. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience! Andrian is incredibly knowledgeable about the history of Moldova and shared fascinating insights about the monasteries we visited. Very nice drive to make 2 stops to see monasteries. Tour guide went out of his way so I could take a picture of Stephen the Great statue.
My tour guide Tim was excellent! Fluent in English. He is very good at telling traditions and reporting on the country and people. He has a very broad knowledge of the country, culture, economy and much more. The tour was exclusively focused on cultural sites, of which there would be more. No photograph can reflect what you see and experience in person. Monasteries are very well preserved. Hiking trails are well signposted. Pure nature!

Great experience, perfectly designed to see most of what’s to be seen in the area in a condensed timeframe & with comfort. Andrian is very nice, provider a wealth of information of Moldova past & contemporary, and gives plenty of flexibility to enjoy things at your own rhythm. The lunch he recommended was super good and incredible value for money. I’m female, was travelling solo and felt super safe all the time :)
