La tua visita ad Atene inizia con la collina dell'Acropoli, che sarà il momento clou della tua giornata. Sulla collina storica, avrai l'opportunità di vedere l'Odeon di Erode Attico, il Tempio di Atena Nike, la porta monumentale (Propylaea), l'Eretteo e, naturalmente, il famoso Partenone, il tempio principale dedicato alla dea Atena.
I Propilei costituiscono l'ingresso monumentale all'area sacra dedicata ad Atena, dea protettrice della città. Costruito dall'architetto Mnesicles con marmo pentelico, il loro design era all'avanguardia. A sud-ovest dei Propilei, su un bastione che protegge l'ingresso principale dell'Acropoli, si trova il tempio ionico di Apteros Nike.
Il Partenone, il tempio principale dedicato alla dea vergine Atena. L'eterno simbolo della democrazia ateniese e della civiltà occidentale.
L'Eretteo o Tempio di Atena Polia è un antico tempio-telesterion ionico greco sul lato nord dell'Acropoli, il luogo più forte e sacro dell'antica Atene, principalmente dedicato alla dea Atena.
Il Tempio di Atena Nike è un tempio sull'Acropoli di Atene, dedicato alle dee Atena e Nike. Costruito intorno al 420 a.C., il tempio è il più antico tempio completamente ionico dell'Acropoli.
Il Teatro di Dioniso Eleutereo è uno dei principali teatri di Atene, considerato il primo teatro al mondo, costruito ai piedi dell'Acropoli di Atene.
Situato sul versante meridionale dell'Acropoli, l'Odeon di Erode Attico è un teatro in pietra di epoca romana costruito nel 161 d.C. in memoria della moglie di Erode Attico, Regilla. Rinomato per la sua eccezionale acustica, un tempo ospitava 5.000 spettatori e ospitava spettacoli musicali e teatrali. Oggi, funge da sede principale per il Festival di Atene, offrendo eventi indimenticabili sullo sfondo dell'iconica Acropoli.

I punti salienti includono la Galleria del Partenone, sculture antiche e la notevole integrazione di un quartiere ateniese scavato visibile sotto i pavimenti in vetro. Inaugurato nel 2009, questo museo premiato offre una miscela unica di storia antica e design contemporaneo, rendendolo una visita imperdibile per qualsiasi appassionato di storia.
Visiteremo lo Stadio Panatenaico dove si sono svolti i primi Giochi Olimpici moderni nel 1896.
Vedremo il cambio della guardia (Euzones) di fronte al vecchio palazzo, che oggi è il Parlamento, sopra la piazza centrale di Atene.
Il Parlamento ellenico, in greco noto come "Voulí ton Ellínon" è il parlamento della Grecia, situato nell'Antico Palazzo Reale, affacciato su Piazza Syntagma. Il Parlamento è la suprema istituzione democratica che rappresenta i cittadini attraverso un corpo eletto di membri del Parlamento.
Piazza Syntagma è la piazza centrale di Atene. La piazza prende il nome dalla Costituzione che Ottone, primo re di Grecia, fu obbligato a concedere dopo un'insurrezione popolare e militare il 3 settembre 1843.
L'edificio dell'Accademia costituisce una delle tre parti di una "trilogia architettonica". Fu fondata con Decreto Costituzionale del 18 marzo 1926, come Accademia delle Scienze, Lettere e Belle Arti.
La Biblioteca Nazionale di Grecia fu costruita alla fine del XIX secolo, come ultima della Trilogia Architettonica di Atene, un gruppo di tre edifici neoclassici che comprende anche l'Accademia e l'Università. L'edificio è stato progettato dal signor Theophil Hansen.
Proseguendo verso il centro storico della città, saliremo sulla collina più alta di Atene, la collina del Licabetto, dove godrai della migliore vista panoramica della città, dalla collina dell'Acropoli fino al Mar Egeo.

Amazing tour! We enjoyed the acropolis and the museum. The hike is a bit steep and slippery at times but we took breaks along the way. Nancy is the best tour guide!

My wife and I had a wonderful day in Athens with Dimitri, our driver. We had one day to see as much of Athens as possible and we were able to make the most of it. Dimitri picked us up promptly at our cruise ship location at 8:30 am, loaded up our bags and we were off to a fabulous tour of Athens. Dimitri was extremely pleasant and friendly and provided us with a great deal of information about the history of Athens as he took us to see many of the sights that the city is famous for, but also some lesser known, but just as important, to include the Panathenaic Stadium and the Parliament Building (former King's Palace). We even got to witness the changing of the guard. He made several stops for photo opportunities along the way, which we much appreciated, and was always ready to take photos of the two of us. We had ample time to explore the Acropolis area when he dropped us off at the main entrance. Next we toured the Acropolis museum, then were off to hike up to the top of Mount Lycabettus, where we had a spectacular 360 degree view of Athens. As our tour came to an end, Dimitri delivered us to our hotel just in time to check in. It was a very full day, but completed in just 6 1/5 hours. We were able to do so much more in a short amount of time with a private driver because he was able to get us to places where buses were unable to get to, plus we had some flexibility with our itinerary. So much value for our $$. Highly recommend this tour and Dimitri, our driver and tour guide.

I had the absolute pleasure of doing two full-day tours with George and his incredible team of drivers and tour guides, and I can confidently say it was one of the best travel experiences of my life. On the first day, we explored the highlights of Athens — including the iconic Acropolis, the Parthenon, the Acropolis Museum, and other stunning historical landmarks. Everything was perfectly timed, and the guide’s knowledge made every moment memorable. The second day took us on a breathtaking journey to Delphi and Thermopylae — where we stood on the very ground where the legendary 300 Spartans faced the Persian army. It was surreal and deeply moving. We also had lunch at a beautiful mountain-top restaurant with an incredible view and top-tier food — truly unforgettable. The Mercedes mini-van was in perfect condition, super comfortable, and made the long drives relaxing. The price was also very reasonable for the level of service we received. I absolutely fell in love with Greece — its landscapes, its food, and its people. I haven’t even left yet, and I already want to come back. Eva, our guide, was a fountain of information. We toured the Parthenon, Acropolis, Acropolis Museum and the Theater of Dionysus. As a former archaeologist, she offered great historical information and entertaining mythological stories of all the spots. Giannis out driver was ready at a moment’s notice and navigated the city with ease. Would recommend them both!
