Inizia il tuo tour di un giorno ad Assuan facendoti venire a prendere dal tuo hotel o dalla nave da crociera e guidando fino all'Alta Diga di Assuan, un miracolo dell'ingegneria costruito negli anni '60. Dalla cima dell'Alta Diga puoi ammirare il Lago Nasser fino al tempio di Kalabsha a sud e all'enorme centrale elettrica a nord.
Prosegui verso l'Obelisco Incompiuto nelle cave di granito di Assuan, da dove proviene gran parte del granito rosso utilizzato per antichi templi e colossi. L'Obelisco Incompiuto si trova ancora nel punto in cui fu scolpito quando fu scoperta una crepa mentre veniva scavato nella roccia. La tua guida egittologa qualificata ti spiegherà come è stato scolpito l'obelisco da 1 tonnellata e perché la crepa ne ha causato l'abbandono.
L'ultimo dei 3 famosi siti di Assuan che vedrai è generalmente considerato il migliore. Il Tempio di Philae fu spostato con cura nella sua posizione attuale (a circa 500 metri dal sito originale) quando la costruzione dell'Alta Diga provocò l'innalzamento delle acque circostanti del Nilo. Un breve giro in motoscafo ti porterà sull'isola, dove la guida ti accompagnerà in un tour a piedi attraverso il tempio prima di concederti del tempo libero per esplorare ulteriormente in autonomia. Dedicato alla dea Iside, il Tempio di Philae occupa una splendida posizione su un'isola nel fiume che è stata progettata per adattarsi al suo sito originale.

We did one last tour while staying in Aswan and this one was great. My husband was becoming ill from the heat on previous tours and Big Mac did everything to keep him cool and in the shade and also navigated us away from the huge bus loads of tourists that can be a problem. He was kind and funny and informative. Highly recommended!

I had a fantastic experience exploring Aswan's most iconic sights in just one day. The High Dam was impressive and learning about its construction was fascinating. The speed boat ride on the Nile to Philae temple was great and the temple was amazing.
