Il tour parte dal vostro hotel, un'occasione per trascorrere una deliziosa giornata fuori Roma per visitare l'Umbria, una delle regioni più pittoresche d'Italia ricca di vigneti, ulivi e i famosi borghi collinari. Una delle più famose è Assisi, sito patrimonio mondiale dell'UNESCO. La mistica cittadina di San Francesco, circondata dalle sue antiche mura, è stata costruita sulle verdi pendici del Monte Subasio e con le sue case colorate di pietra, le stradine strette, i balconi fioriti e i palazzi nobiliari offrono splendidi panorami per immagini memorabili (non dimenticate la macchina fotografica). Interessante la visita alla Basilica di San Francesco, con i suoi capolavori del primo Rinascimento di Giotto e Cimabue, e alla Basilica di Santa Maria degli Angeli. Tempo per il pranzo in un ristorante tipico (facoltativo) e poi il tour prosegue per Orvieto, dove si può ammirare un capolavoro di architettura gotica con una facciata scintillante di vetrate, mosaici e sculture. Immergiti nel fascino di Orvieto ed esplora il centro città e poi Ritorno a Roma.

Itinerario
Una visita è d'obbligo alla basilica di San Francesco con i suoi capolavori del Primo Rinascimento di Giotto e Cimabue e la basilica di Santa Maria degli Angeli. Basilica di Santa Maria degli Angeli Dopo la morte di San Francesco, nel 1226, i frati costruito diverse piccole casupole intorno alla Porziuncola. Nel 1230, furono aggiunti un refettorio e alcuni edifici ad esso adiacenti. Nel corso del tempo, intorno alla Porziuncola furono costruiti dei piccoli portici e le sistemazioni per i frati. Alcune fondamenta di questi edifici sono state scoperte durante gli scavi sotto il pavimento dell'attuale basilica, tra il 1967 e il 1969. Siccome un ingente numero di pellegrini giunse in massa ad Assisi per ricevere il "Perdono di Assisi", il piccolo spazio della Porziuncola divenne completamente inadeguato ad ospitarli tutti. Le necessità diventarono sempre più impellenti tanto che si arrivò a costruire una chiesa che incorporasse la Porziuncola. Gli edifici intorno al santuario furono abbattuti per ordine di Papa Pio V (1566-1572), eccezion fatta per la Cappella del Transito, la cella in cui San Francesco morì. La costruzione della basilica è iniziata il 25 marzo 1569.
Visita alla chiesa di Santa Chiara: la chiesa fu costruita dopo la morte di Santa Chiara, tra il 1257 e il 1265, intorno all'antica chiesa di San Giorgio, che fino al 1230 aveva conservato le spoglie di San Francesco
Splendida residenza barocca con volte affrescate all'inizio del XVII secolo, da pittori umbri e toscani, la Pinacoteca Comunale di Assisi si può visitare e contiene un cospicuo numero di affreschi medievali e rinascimentali
La mistica città di San Francesco, ancora oggi circondata dalle sue antiche mura, costruite sui verdi pendii del monte Subasio e con le sue case colorate di pietra per inchiostro. Le strette strade, i balconi fioriti e i palazzi nobiliari offrono delle viste splendide per delle foto memorabili (non dimenticare la fotocamera). Il Duomo di Orvieto è una delle più belle cattedrali Italiane, capolavoro dell'architettura gotica del centro Italia. Il magnifico edificio domina la scogliera su cui si trova Orvieto grazie alle sue dimensioni. In particolare, lo splendore della sua facciata è conosciuto in tutto il mondo, con le sue torri che raggiungono un'altezza di circa 53 metri. Da non dimenticare l’interno della Cupola, con meravigliose decorazioni e affreschi realizzati da alcuni dei più grandi pittori del passato, tra cui il celebre Giudizio Universale di Luca Signorelli.
Esplora Orvieto, una delle città più antiche d'Italia, deve le sue origini alla civiltà etrusca: i primi insediamenti risalgono al IX secolo a.C. e si localizzarono all'interno delle grotte tufacee ricavate nel massiccio su cui attualmente sorge la cittadina umbra. Sebbene la fama di Orvieto sia profondamente intrecciata con quella del suo magnifico Duomo, la città offre numerosi spunti e itinerari storico-artistici, proprio in virtù delle sue antichissime origini. Inoltre, arroccata su una rupe, Orvieto offre scorci panoramici davvero splendidi.

Elisabetta was a wonderful guide and when she handed us off to Victoria at the entrance to Assisi, the trip went up a notch. I have personally been there two times before and did not have as thorough an explanation for all of the artistry as I did this time. We were comfortable in the car ride and there was only four of us for the day trip so it was very personalized. I would not hesitate to recommend it 100%.

Fantastic Day in Assisi! Juliana and her driver were the best! Picked up my wife and me at 7 a.m. at our hotel and headed out for a great day in Assisi. Juliana was a wonderful guide - very thoughtful and allowed us to move at our own pace. In Assisi, we had a guide who walked us through the town and churches - explaining everything in detail. After a nice lunch, we stopped by Orvieto for a brief tour. Beautiful church. Highly recommend this tour and Juliana!
