Great way to experience the Colosseum and the Roman Forum! We learned so much from our guide. It was one of the highlights of the trip.

We had a wonderful morning on our Colosseum, Forum and Palatine Hill tour with Ellie. Ellie was a wealth of knowledge, fun and friendly. We chose an early morning tour to try to beat some crowds and also the July heat. The Colosseum and Forum were very busy, however, we were in fast queues and access was easy because we had pre-booked. Access to the Arena (which was part of the tour we booked) was an added bonus and I would recommend doing this. City Eyes were excellent. The booking process was easy, communication very good, price was reasonable and spending time with Ellie was great.

We had a wonderful time learning about the Colosseum and Palatine Hill. Azzurra was an amazing guide with excellent history and information. We would highly recommend the early morning start, as we were the first in line and by the time we exited the Colosseum, the line looked very long. Mirta and CityEyes Private Tours did a great job with our private Coliseum Tour. Mirta meet us in the lobby of our hotel, walked us to the Coliseum and we began the 8am tour. Quite a difference experience than a group tour of 30 people with ear pieces. We were able to ask one on one questions. Highly recommend the private tour and ask for Mirta.

I originally booked a group tour with Viator for underground Colosseum. A group of 12 met at our meeting spot and took us down to the entrance. We got to entrance and our tickets didn’t work. Apparently underground for Colosseum is limited and they decide how many can go. Luckily it was our first day in Rome so we had other days to try. For everyone else that was their only chance to go into Colosseum. While standing outside Colosseum trying to figure out what to do, I Whsts Having a private tour guide is worth every penny. You don’t follow around a person holding a stick with a group of 20 people wearing headsets to listen to what they’re saying.
