Arroccato in alto sopra English Harbour, la vista da Shirley Heights è semplicemente incredibile. Se offre una vista mozzafiato sugli yacht ormeggiati nel porto sottostante. Prende il nome dal governatore Thomas Shirley che fortificò il porto nel 1781. In una giornata limpida, le isole vicine possono essere viste da questo punto di osservazione.
Nelsons Dockyard, che prende il nome dall'ammiraglio Horatio Nelson, un ufficiale della marina britannica che visse in questo cantiere navale della Royal Navy tra il 1784 e il 1787. Completamente restaurato al suo splendore originale, gli edifici del XVIII e XIX secolo del Dockyard ospitano tutti i comfort moderni. We spent a half day riding around the island and through many villages. Riley was a great guide and proud of his country. His knowledge helped make it a wonderful tour. So many interesting sites and beautiful views at Devil’s Bridge, Nelson Dockyard and Shirley Heights.

I am at an all inclusive resort but also wanted an overview of Island. This tour was as advertised and fit the bill. I was pleasantly surprised to be only person on the tour. Driver/guide was pleasant and informative. Tour did include pick up and return to Jolly Beach Resort, where I was staying.

This was the perfect way to see some of the highlights of the Antigua! The tour included every stop I wanted to see, and Benjamin was the perfect guide. He answered every last question I had about Antiguan landmarks, history, and culture. He even stopped so we could try a local tamarind fruit straight off a tree! Overall, it was a great half-day tour, and I would recommend it to anyone looking to get off their resort for a bit and see more of the island.
