La nostra prima tappa rivela il luogo di nascita dell'industria unica dell'isola di gamberetti in salamoia. Queste minuscole creature – che prosperano in acque più salate dell’oceano – costituiscono le fondamenta della vita nel Grande Lago Salato. La loro incredibile capacità di sopravvivere in condizioni così estreme li ha resi sia un tesoro ecologico che un'importante risorsa economica per lo Utah.
Una breve passeggiata ci porta al Lady Finger Trail Overlook, dove la bellezza dell’isola si apre in piena vista. Mentre il sole del pomeriggio ammorbidisce il cielo, il Gran Lago Salato scintilla come vetro, apparentemente fondendosi all'orizzonte - una splendida e indimenticabile introduzione all'Isola delle Antilopi.

Our guide was very knowledgeable, friendly, and accommodating. The sunset was amazing.We enjoyed the experience immensely.!
Our guide was lovely and very knowledgeable. We saw a lot of wildlife which is why we when. However, the trip could have been much shorter. The first two hours we barely saw anything and the guide said the wildlife is better seen soon before sunset. And it was amazing. But not sure why we needed to drive around for hours before that 😢
It was awesome! Dmytro was super knowledgeable. He was determined to find us wildlife and stopped at many different places to get us up close and personal with bison! He was really good about personalizing the trip for us with extra stops we asked for including hiking a bit and getting down to touch the water! The cost of trip was very reasonable - the tour lasts about 6 hours - that's only like $17/hour. And he provided water and snacks as well! Definitely one of the best tour guides we've ever had!!!
The experience was amazing. I wasn’t super exited at first but seeing the wildlife and everything was so great. The guide was the kindest person I have ever met. You get snacks, cold water, binoculars, and umbrellas if it is hot. It was a good price and just the guide was great. One person in our group was complaining because he wanted to go despite the guide telling us everything. Overall great experience and the guide was so kind!
The Antelope Island Sunset tour was the best part of our Salt Lake City vacation. We were picked up at our hotel in a comfortable sprinter van. Cold water and (allergy friendly) snacks were offered throughout the tour. Dima shared a lot of history and facts about Utah and the local area. He was funny and engaging and worked hard to make sure everyone enjoyed the tour. He even went searching through the trees to find a porcupine for us to look at! The views were breathtaking- exactly the kind of sights you come to SLC for. We saw bison, antelope, birds, and a bunny. It was a nice combination of riding in air conditioning and getting out to walk or hike. The sunset view was so beautiful! We were dropped off at our hotel at the end and slept like logs. Would do this tour again in a heartbeat.

His enthusiasm turned Antelope Island into a vibrant living narrative. One of the highlights was learning about Utah’s role as a prominent filming location. Dima shared fascinating tidbits about famous movies shot in the area, like Westworld, Independence Day, and even Indian Jones. We had no idea Utah was such a versatile hub for film production, with its storied history dating back to 1923 with The Covered Wagon. Dima kept the atmosphere lighthearted and engaging, incorporating video footage on his tablet that shed additional light on the region’s rich cultural heritage, including its Native American history, pioneer stories, and the influence of Mormons. This unique private tour truly proided our group of four with a deeper appreiation for the stunning beauty and significance of Antelope Island and the Great Salt Lake. Our experience on June 17, 2026, was nothing short of remarkable, and we wholeheartedly recommend this tour for anyone looking to explore the hidden gems of Utah. My boys and I thoroughly enjoyed our trip to Antelope Island with Dima from Matei Travel. The tour was amazing. We saw lots of wildlife close up and beautiful scenery. Dima has a wealth of knowledge and is enthusiastic and energetic, always sharing his knowledge and making the trip comfortable and enjoyable.
