Visitate l'alba fuori da Angkor Wat, entrate nel grande tempio nell'oscurità dal lato occidentale e godetevi l'atmosfera dell'alba ad Angkor, dal bordo di una delle antiche piscine della biblioteca. Trascorri la giornata con una visita guidata del tempio con la tua guida locale per sfruttare al meglio la tua visita al famoso complesso di Angkor, costruito tra il IX e il XIII secolo, quando l'impero Khmer era la principale influenza nel sud-est asiatico.

Iniziamo con una partenza prima dell'alba (dalle 4.30 alle 4.45am secondo il periodo dell'anno) dal vostro hotel per l'alba fuori da Angkor Wat. Entra nel grande tempio nell'oscurità dal lato orientale poco visitato, e striscia lungo i corridoi claustrali di Hoary oltre il più lungo tratto di sculture di bassorilievo del mondo.
La porta sud di Angkor Thom è la meglio conservata. Si avvicina dall'esterno attraverso una strada rialzata che si estende per circa cinquanta metri attraverso un fossato. Su ogni lato della strada rialzata si trovano delle inferriate con 54 figure di pietra impegnate nell'esecuzione di una famosa storia hindu: il mito dello zangolatura dell'oceano. Sul lato sinistro del fossato, 54 "devas" (dei guardiani) tirano la testa del serpente "Shesha" mentre sul lato destro 54 "asura" (i demoni) tirano la coda del serpente nella direzione opposta. In questo mito, il corpo del serpente è avvolto attorno alla montagna centrale, il monte. Meru, forse corrispondente qui al tempio Bayon al centro del sito. In ogni caso, il mito racconta che quando i Deva tirarono il serpente in una direzione e gli dei si spinsero nell'altra, l'oceano cominciò a agitare e precipitare gli elementi. Alternando avanti e indietro, l'oceano veniva "munto", formando nuovamente la terra e il cosmo.
Angkor Thom è il maestoso sito che una volta era la scintillante capitale dell'Impero Khmer. Prenditi un momento per considerare la sua grandiosità prima di avventurarti all'interno della città. Arrivando al tempio di Bayon, apprezzate le sue torri centrali splendidamente lavorate coperte in più di 200 facce enormi.
La Terrazza di Elefanti, lunga 350 metri, era usata come banco di prova gigante per le cerimonie pubbliche e serviva come base per la sala delle udienze del re. Ha cinque outworks che si estendono verso la Central Square: tre al centro e una a ciascuna estremità. La parte centrale del muro di sostegno è decorata con garuda e leoni a grandezza naturale; verso le due estremità ci sono le due parti della famosa parata di elefanti completa con i loro mahout khmer.
Uno dei più suggestivi di tutti i templi di Angkor. Un tempo dimora di 2.740 monaci, oggi Ta Prohm sembra molto simile all'inizio del 1850, quando l'esploratore francese Henri Mouhot "riscoprì" questo sito fatiscente. Dopo aver esplorato l'interno labirintico di Ta Prohm, ritorna al tuo hotel dopo una lunga ma appagante giornata, che ti lascerà una vita di ricordi di una delle meraviglie del mondo.

We had a guided tour by Sam and his driver Da! It was just amazing, he showed us the best spots instead of all the tourist spots! It was impressive how much knowlegde Sam had on both the temples as well as the Khmer history. I would recommend him for sure! A 10/10 experience. And he was a great cameraman as well!!

This tour was awwsome! Watching the sunrise at Angkor Wat was absolutely breathtaking, but what really made the day unforgettable was our amazing guide, Sam, and our driver, Mr. Ha. Sam was incredibly knowledgeable and passionate. As we walked through the temples, he shared fascinating stories and historical details that brought each place to life. He also planned the route perfectly, making sure we avoided unnecessary walking in the heat while still seeing all the highlights. We learned so much and enjoyed every moment. Mr. Ha was equally fantastic. He was always there waiting for us at each temple exit with cold water and refreshing towels, which made such a difference during the day. It is a must do experience!

Sam was a great tour guide who took us to a great spot to watch the sunset overlooking Angkor Wat. Seeing the different temples of Angkor Wat, Bayon Temple, and Ta Prohm was amazing. Sam had a lot of details to share and made it interesting with his story telling. He even added some details about the culture of Cambodia which was nice to learn. He's also great taking photos and knows all the good spots. I highlight recommend this tour! To top it off, our driver Ha was amazing and so attentive. Every time we got on the bus he had a cold towel and water ready for us.
