Zhinvali, anche Jinvali, è un serbatoio artificiale situato sul fiume Aragvi in Georgia. La costruzione della diga idroelettrica ha formato il bacino idrico di Zhinvali. La diga è stata costruita nel 1986. Sarete deliziati dall'acqua perfettamente color blu circondata dalle montagne.
La fortezza di Ananuri è un complesso cinquecentesco sul fiume Aragvi. La fortezza si trova accanto alla famosa strada militare georgiana, affacciata su un grande lago Jinvali. Le sue alte mura in pietra proteggono due chiese, una torre di avvistamento e un bacino idrico. La facciata della chiesa principale è splendidamente scolpita con motivi animali, floreali e in stile celtico.

La prossima fermata lungo la strada è Gudauri, una stazione sciistica notevole in Georgia. Il resort si trova a un'altitudine di 7217 piedi (2200 metri) sopra il livello del mare. La prima stazione di sollevamento inferiore si trova a 1.928 metri (1.990 metri) sul livello del mare e l'ultima, o in cima, la stazione è a 3.306 metri chiamata summit Sadzele. Il resort offre opportunità di sci di alta qualità. La stagione sciistica dura da dicembre ad aprile.

Il vertice si trova direttamente a ovest della città di Stepantsminda ed è la caratteristica geografica più importante della zona. Il Monte Kazbek è il picco più alto della Georgia orientale.
Sulla via del ritorno a Tbilisi ci fermeremo in uno dei ristoranti del villaggio di Pasanauri. Questo posto è considerato il luogo di nascita degli gnocchi georgiani - Khinkali. Qui puoi anche provare pesce fresco di fiume, agnello e molto altro.

This tour was nothing short of exceptional. From start to finish, everything was flawlessly organized and thoughtfully executed. My guide, Gio, was outstanding – incredibly knowledgeable, engaging, and genuinely passionate about his country. He shared not only historical facts, but also cultural context and personal insights that gave real depth to the experience. It was a true pleasure to spend the day in his company. Equally impressive was driver, Pancho. He drove with great care and confidence, even on challenging mountain roads, and was always courteous, and attentive. The guide was excellent and all the info she gave about this and that made it a good tour. Hence, even tough the driving distance was significant we still had fun. The mountains were of course also very interesting to see.

I had an amazing day with Khatuna from friendly.ge exploring the Kazbegi area. What a breathtaking tour! We went in March when the mountains are still snowy and the view was everything. Out guide, Aleksi, was also great, told us many things about the mountains, Georgian culture and more. He was very helpful and flexible with accommodating all our requests. We can only recommend this tour if you love the mountains and want a full day of eyecandy :)

We've had a wonderful day with Giorgi. It was both full of natural wonders and historical adventure. Through the entire trip we discussed architecture, Georgia's blockbuster history and unique culture and language. From ancient time through Golden era to the sorrow times of strife, Russian Imperial rule, being a part of USSR and back to independence, not historical stone was left unturned. It was accompanied by interesting anecdotes and spectacular views from the car windows. Giorgi was also accommodating when we wanted to take pictures outside of the standard itinerary. I think out of everything I've taken as a tour in Georgia, that was the most interesting one. I'd like to mention that he speaks both English and exceptionally fluent Russian so we were switching back-and-forth as required to understand each other. Keep it awesome, folks!
