Prima dell’alba, l’autobus è alla vostra porta, è un inizio anticipato ma ne vale la pena. Il viaggio verso sud dura 1,5 ore e quando si raggiunge il Parco Nazionale di Cape Hillsborough, la luce sta appena salendo sul Mar dei Coralli e i canguri si stanno già spostando verso la spiaggia. Questi animali sono completamente selvatici. Niente ricettatori, niente spettacoli di cibo, niente responsabili. Si avvicinano a modo loro – a meno di mezzo metro – mentre frugano lungo la sabbia all’alba. La tua Ecoguida accreditata è al tuo fianco per tutto il tempo, dicendoti cosa stai guardando e perché Cape Hillsborough è uno dei pochi posti in Australia in cui questo accade naturalmente, ogni mattina. Dopo l'alba, il gruppo prepara insieme la Drovers Breakfast: panini con bacon e ammortizzatore all'uovo, caffè caldo della stampa Francese e autentica Vegemite australiana da provare se ne avete il coraggio, mentre si affaccia sulla foresta pluviale costiera. 3: 00 partenza dal vostro Alloggio. L'autista ha un cartello e indossa una camicia verde. Tempo di percorrenza circa 1 ora e 30 minuti a sud lungo la costa seguendo Collezioni alberghiere.
Entra nel parco nazionale prima dell'alba prima di farti strada sulla spiaggia.
Canguri e wallaby grigi orientali selvatici emergono dal bush sulla spiaggia all'alba. Completamente selvaggio e vagabondo. Gli animali si avvicinano liberamente — spesso entro mezzo metro. Nota bene: non sono consentiti flash fotografici, alimentazione, tocco, rumore, altoparlanti o torce elettriche. Le guide certificate vi informeranno prima di salire sulla spiaggia.
Dopo che il sole è veramente nel cielo e i canguri sono partiti, il gruppo cucina insieme la colazione Drovers con vista sull'acqua. Involtini di smorzatore di uova e pancetta, caffè Francese, Vegemite per provare la via australiana se siete audaci.
Torniamo ad Airlie Beach con voi che sarete lasciati al vostro Alloggio alle 9 circa: 30 del mattino con il resto della giornata da esplorare a vostro piacimento.

What a wonderful sunrise amongst the wallabies ! A real wonder of the world . D’Artagnan and Cara were amazing and organised the trip perfectly! It is definitely worth waking up early to observe the wallabies in their natural environment on the beach! Amazing time with amazing team and amazing wallabies ! Wow ! What an experience . So worth the very early alarm call . It’s was amazing to see the kangaroos and wallabies on the beach at sunrise. There is a warden on the beach who lays out treats for the kangaroos . You can get quite close . Once the sun rises you also can see the beauty of the Park and beach area . When we arrived there was not many people , a little later on quite a few more people arrived . We were collected from our hotel at 2.24am, it’s was approx 2 hrs to get there , on the way back we stopped in an ‘ ‘American Diner ‘ for bacon and egg burgers , they were gorgeous. Back at our hotel just after 9am Our driver was Cara , she was lovely and chatty and was giving us information about the area . It was a small group of 6 , just right .

Thanks to our guide, D, for a great experience! We saw kangaroos and wallabies close up. D is extremely knowledgeable and I learned many new things about these animals. We also stopped at a beautiful waterfall on the way back where you could take a dip. Park fee and a hot breakfast were included in the price so you don't have to think too much before getting on the bus in the wee hours of the morning.

We had a wonderful trip with D. He is super nice, gives any info and makes the trip very entertaining and fun :) The breakfast was delicious and was totally lovingly prepared. The highlight was of course the kangaroos on the beach! Insanely impressive and you have over an hour there. Since we still had a bit of time, he also drove us to a waterfall. Thanks for everything!
