Una giornata al Pont du Gard, a Nîmes e a Orange

⚠️ Nuovo veicolo da marzo 2026! Ciao caro visitatore, mi chiamo Arnaud e sarò la tua guida locale in questa magnifica Provenza. Tra i 5 tour che propongo, oggi vi porto ai monumenti romani di Pont du Gard, Nîmes e Orange. Il tour inizierà a Nîmes con una breve sosta davanti alla Maison Carrée, un antico tempio romano, prima di proseguire con la visita audioguidata dell'Arena di Nîmes. Nota: da novembre a marzo verrà effettuata solo una passeggiata nel centro storico di Nîmes, per vedere i monumenti principali. Ci fermeremo poi al Pont du Gard per un picnic con prodotti locali provenienti dalle fattorie locali (solo da aprile a ottobre), per poi passeggiare intorno al Pont du Gard e ammirare una vista superba di questo monumento. Infine, ci dirigeremo a Orange per una sosta all'Arco di Trionfo e una visita audioguidata del maestoso Teatro Antico. Nota: da novembre a marzo il circuito verrà percorso in senso inverso.

Itinerario
Dopo 45 minuti di auto da Avignone, una sosta fotografica davanti alla Maison Carrée di Nîmes, un antico tempio romano dedicato ai nipoti dell'imperatore Augusto. Poi 15 minuti a piedi fino all'arena di Nîmes.
Visita audioguidata delle splendide arene di Nîmes, costruite intorno al 100 d.C. sul modello del Colosseo di Roma. Poi 15 minuti a piedi per tornare alla macchina e circa 30 minuti di auto per raggiungere il Pont du Gard. Nota: la visita alle Arene non è inclusa tra novembre e marzo. In questo periodo faremo solo una passeggiata per la città per osservare i principali monumenti.
Dopo un picnic di un'ora con vista sul Pont du Gard (solo da aprile a ottobre), una passeggiata intorno al magnifico e imponente Pont du Gard, che faceva parte di un acquedotto romano lungo 52 chilometri per rifornire d'acqua Nîmes. Fu costruito intorno all'anno 50 d.C. Poi 30 minuti di auto fino a Orange.
Sosta fotografica all'Arco di Trionfo di Orange con ascolto di registrazioni audio che ripercorrono la storia del monumento. Poi 10 minuti di auto fino al Teatro Antico.
Visita audioguidata del maestoso teatro antico, costruito intorno al 20 a.C. Poi circa 30 minuti di auto per tornare al punto check-out ad Avignone.

Very nice trip. Pont Du Gard was the highlight but Nimes and Orange are also good. Arnaud was very helpful.

Great guide. Well planned day that covered a lot. Loved the Pont du Gard and Orange Theatre best. Authentic lunch but a bit light. Bit squashed with 6 people plus Arlo the guide in the car on a hot day. Overall enjoyed the day. Good value.

Very personalized tour of only 3 guests. The tour guide was very interested in making the tour as enjoyable as possible. The picnic lunch was a pleasant addition to the trip to Pont du Gard. The locations visited were amazing and informative. Loved the tour!
This tour offered some of the best of the best Roman antiquities with the bonus of Provence views! We thought Arnaud laid out the itinerary for Orange, Nîmes and the Pont du Gard perfectly. We could not have accomplished these logistic ourselves nor enjoyed his history lessons along the way. The Arch, Theatres and Amphitheatres were all quite amazing to see. The 2000 year old La Maison Carrée was beautiful. Our lovely picnic at Pont du Gard was lovely and so "Very French"!! Highly recommended.

The sights were worth seeing but the mode of transport was limited and not comfortable. A fairly small car with 6 people and we were stuck in the back with no leg or feet room or much air circulation.
Hello, Thank you for your review and for noticing that I am alone in the company and I have built this business from scratch without any financial aid from the French and European organizations. So you understand why I couldnt’ buy a bus or a van after only 1 year of work. But thanks to your help, I will try to buy something bigger in 1 year or 2, except if the goal of your review is to block people to book my tour and to avoid me to live decently. Anyway, this is not a small car (maybe for your country but here in France we don’t consider it as a small car but a 7-seat car for families). For air circulation in the car, there is something called « window », and guess what, it’s possible to open it! And it’s also possible to ask for more air conditioning. I’ve never bite someone who asked for more air… I mean, not yet! However, you said that the sights were interesting. You should have talked about it instead of developing the negative things (according to what you think but it’s subjective and it’s not what the majority of my clients think). Regards.
We thoroughly enjoyed our day with our amazing guide, Arnaud. This tour included all the places on our "must see" list. The added bonus was the lovely picnic lunch with all locally sourced foods. I highly recommend his tours!!
