I stayed with my daughter at Alan‘s place for five nights. We met in Nauta, although he could have picked us up in Iquitos as well. From there, we drove about two hours by boat to the lodge. It’s very remote and peaceful, located near the Amazon River on a tributary. The lodge consists of five or six cabins, all very well equipped. You can observe nature at any time of day, and there’s a lot to see. We were the only guests at the lodge, and Alan tailored the entire program to us. As part of that, we went camping for one night — so, two days — in the nearby national reserve. He always took a lot of time to show us and explain the natural surroundings. He was also open to special requests and helped us experience the Amazon and its nature more deeply. During the activities on the other days as well, he was always very flexible and gave us plenty of his time. Therefore, absolutely recommendable. The foot was good too. I chose this lodge because, according to my research, it is the only one in the wider Iquitos area that is run and managed by a local community. And you can really feel that when you’re there. That’s another reason why it’s absolutely recommendable — it supports the local communities rather than foreign or domestic investors. If you’re interested, you can also get a sense of the lodge’s connection to the local community. We had a village visit and found the cultural atmosphere very interesting.
Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience! It was a real pleasure hosting you and your daughter at the lodge. We're truly happy to hear that you enjoyed the peaceful setting, the activities, and the deep connection with nature and the local community. We always strive to offer a personalized and authentic experience, so it's very rewarding to know that you felt that throughout your stay — especially with the customized program and the camping trip. We're also glad you appreciated the fact that the lodge is run by a local community; for us, sustainability and positive local impact are at the heart of everything we do. Thank you again for visiting and for recommending our experience. We’d love to welcome you back one day to the heart of the Amazon! Warm regards, Alan & the Lodge Team
