Questo è un famoso tempio del film Tomb Raider. Ta Prohm (prasat ta prohm) è il nome moderno del tempio di Angkor, nella provincia di Siem Reap, in Cambogia, costruito in stile Bayon in gran parte tra la fine del XII e l'inizio del XIII secolo e originariamente chiamato Rajavihara. Situato a circa un chilometro a est di Angkor Thom e all'estremità meridionale dell'East Baray, fu fondato dal re Khmer Jayavarman VII come monastero e università buddista Mahayana. A differenza della maggior parte dei templi di Angkor, Ta Prohm si trova più o meno nelle stesse condizioni in cui è stato trovato: la combinazione fotogenica e atmosferica degli alberi che crescono dalle rovine e dai dintorni della giungla lo hanno reso uno dei templi più popolari di Angkor tra i visitatori. L'UNESCO ha iscritto Ta Prohm nella Lista del Patrimonio Mondiale nel 1992.

Il Bayon è un tempio Khmer riccamente decorato ad Angkor in Cambogia. Costruito alla fine del XII o all'inizio del XIII secolo come tempio di stato del re buddista Mahayana Jayavarman VII, il Bayon si trova al centro della capitale di Jayavarman, Angkor Thom Dopo la morte di Jayavarman, fu modificato e potenziato dai successivi re buddisti indù e Theravada in conformità con le proprie preferenze religiose. La caratteristica più distintiva del Bayon è la moltitudine di facciate in pietra serene e sorridenti sulle numerose torri che sporgono dalla terrazza superiore e si raggruppano attorno alla sua cima centrale. [3] Il tempio ha due serie di bassorilievi, che presentano una combinazione di scene mitologiche, storiche e banali. Il principale organo conservatorio, il team del governo giapponese per la salvaguardia di Angkor (la JSA) ha descritto il tempio come "l'espressione più sorprendente dello stile barocco" dell'architettura Khmer, in contrasto con lo stile classico di Angkor Wat.
Pre Rup era dedicato al dio indù Shiva e probabilmente si trova su un ex ashram shiva, costruito da Yasovarman I nel secolo precedente.[6] Forse si trovava al centro di una nuova capitale costruita da Rajendravarman, con la diga meridionale di East Baray come limite settentrionale della città, ma delle abitazioni non è sopravvissuto nulla[6] e questa "ipotesi della città orientale" di Philippe Stern non è mai stata confermata da scoperte archeologiche.

I and my friend booked a tour for our 1st day in Angkor, to get good understanding of the place, history and specifics. We deeply enjoyed the tour with Mr. Win Sok: it was full of details on history and architecture, he has shown us the best views and paths, last but not least provided us with a good place to have a lunch. Deep thanks to our driver, who moved us smoothly from one place to another! Angkor amused us deeply, we'll continue to discover it in the nearest days and maybe take some other tour for the countryside as well.
We had a tour with Mr Lux ( Nguon Sominea) and we really enjoyed it. What we liked most is: 1. that the guide was very professional and well-educated with excellent command of English 2. Very friendly and with great photographic skills 3. Time management- we’ve managed to visit many things within a good amount of time which is impossible if we were on a group tour. 4. Wet towels with eucalyptus oil - very refreshing and giving a lot of energy 5. The opportunity to dive deeper in the culture since Mr Lux has a very good knowledge in history and culture. Oh my goodness, what an experience! My second trip to Siem Reap, this time I brought my 82yo dad. I re-booked Lux having used him on our last trip. He’s nothing short of amazing. Two days - he adjusted our agenda for what my dad could cope with. He is extremely knowledgeable but doesn’t bombard you with info. Just perfect. We visited the main temples in the Angkor Wat park, also some smaller less-known ones (my faves!). Also visited the Tonle Sap lake. He took us to lovely local places for coffee breaks and lunches. Can’t wait to return. And will definitely be booking Lux again!

What a fantastic day! Upon request our tour was customized with no problem. We had a leivste van and driver and i could not have asked for more. Very reliable. If i ever need a toir or transportation i no longer have to guess. I would highly recommend ss this was my second tour. I will oc course recommend to anyone. Perfect english was spoken and such a great personality!!!! It did not fel like a tour guide but more like a new local friend. Im very happy

It was our second visit to Angkor Wat abd we wanted it to be different. We knew Lux from our previous trip where we did the Siem Reap city tour. We discussed our expectations with him and he proposed a one day tour taking this consideration. Lux is very knowledgeable, friendly and flexible guide. We used Lux and a driver for a tour of the major temples. We did not want to see the sunrise so Lux suggested a sunset to finish, which worked really well for us. Also, we had friends with us that have limited mobility and Lux was able to obtain permission to get our vehicle across the more and right up to Angkor Eat which was "above & beyond" expectations. Consequently, we would very highly recommend Lux and all his knowledge.

This was an excellent tour. Our guide, Heang, was brilliant--encyclopedic memory of Hindu and Buddhist pantheons of gods and iconography, and a passionate way of recounting the myths and philosophies behind them. The vehicle was very comfortable, tour was well paced, with breaks from the hot sun, and Heang was flexible and accomodated to our interests and needs. Highly recommended.
