Just finished this tour. Our guide Mohamed Goda took very good care of us. He arranged a birthday surprise for 2 of my friends..gave special attention to my friend with her injured ankle..and made sure we didn't miss anything we wanted to see or do...highly recommend this tour. Make sure to request Mohamed.
We had an excellent tour guide (Ibrahim) for three of the 4 days for Cairo Giza and Alexandria. He kept the pace perfect for what is a very busy agenda, knew the best places for the most memorable photos and was easy to understand. He also advised us on what we could expect to see in the places we visited so we could decide which of the pyramids we spent time in and those with less to see which meant our time was very well spent. If we were only rating Ibrahim, and it should be said all the excellent drivers we had, this would be a 5+ star review. On the down side, emailing the company before we went resulted in them just failing to answer questions on the agenda which continued when we arrived and wanted to confirm flight times to and from Luxor. It was only the day before the Luxor trip that we were advised of the 2am 😳 pick up for a 5am flight and even then they couldn’t advise on the flight times back. It was only when arrived at the airport that we eventually received boarding cards including the return flight at 11pm!!! And sudden realisation that it was going to be a 24 hour day. If we had know this when we booked we wouldn’t have gone but this is obviously why they left it to the last possible moment to tell us. We were met by the driver in Luxor who drove us slowly to the valley of kings where we met the tour guide Naimar? We think this was her name, difficult to understand what she was saying and when we asked questions her favourite answer was that she had already told us “my darling “ in a very patronising manner. She spent most of her time on her phone, told us very little about what we were looking at and preferred to send us in to figure it out for ourselves. We would invariably have to wait for her to come off her phone when we returned before we moved on to the next site. She also mentioned taking us to an alabaster rock factory which we said we did not want to go to but took us there anyway and when we arrived we told her we don’t like being pestered by people trying to sell us things we don’t want to which she said she would be with us all the time to keep them away. Needless to say we didn’t see her again until after we had escaped. We then went to a fast food shop at 4pm, 7 hours before the flight back, where she told us she was going home and that the driver would take us back to the airport. The flight was late and we crawled back into bed at 2am, 24 hours after we had woken. This is not the holiday experience we had hoped for or expected.
I just finished day 1 of this tour. What an amazing day. My guide Manar, and driver Hassan were absolutely perfect. They were charming, personable, and incredibly knowledgeable. I have absolutely nothing negative to say. They waited patiently as I climbed inside two pyramids (I probably lost 5 pounds sweating but I wouldn't change anything). There was water available as well. The lunch we had was absolutely amazing as well. Manar bought snacks- seeds of various kinds, and delicious dates from a roadside vendor. Authentic egyptian food at its finest. We stopped at shops by my choice. Hassan drove us through hectic Cairo traffic at rush hour expertly. Manar is so knowledgeable and charming, conversing with her is such a pleasure, with no language barrier at all. All in all, I'm beyond happy I have these two as my guides for such an incredible Egyptian experience. I highly recommend Tree of Life, and highly recommend Manar and Hassan. If I were to book in the future, I would definately request these two.
Our Cairo/Sakkara/Memphis guide was named Yasser F, and he was wonderful. As an American woman, I was a little nervous traveling in Egypt. Yasser made me feel comfortable, and he was very knowledgeable about Egypt and its history. He did an amazing job and is one of the best guides I have ever had. Our guide in Luxor was named Omar, and he too was fantastic. Absolutely great company! I would give them 6 stars if I could.
We booked the four day tour of Egypt going from Giza pyramids, to old town Cairo, to Luxor temple ruins ending in Alexander! Our brilliant guide Sarah took us through time of Egypt from old kingdom to new kingdom to Egypt that we now know. The inspirational trip was full of amazing facts of all the sites we saw while remaining a funny sense of humour throughout and the love of an occasional selfie! Sarah if you ever make that leap to London we will happily show you around with some gelato at the end. A great thank you to Mohamed on our Luxor tour another well experienced guide that made the temples in Luxor a great experience.
Overall experience was good. Our tour guide Marbiba was knowledgeable and such a sweetheart. There was a slight language barrier which is expected. Our day trip to Luxor was the highlight of our trip and loved our tour guide there. If I could do it again, I would fly into Luxor and have a day trip in Cairo just because of the hustle and bustle of a big city. Overall I wish we spent more time in museums and less time in the shopping areas or at least make it an option . At some points of our trip, we felt rushed and unable to really take in the experience.
