Very professional, knowledgeable, well managed, dive charter. Such a cool spot to dive, great wildlife. Octopus, eels, great abundance & diverse reef fish. If you struggle with sea sickness on the open ocean, or are inexperienced with it, probably best to take some Dramamine or something similar before.

I booked this trip specifically because the Lanai Cathedrals page describes both First Cathedral and Second Cathedral in detail, which reasonably led me to expect dives at both sites. In reality, our group only visited one Cathedral site. The first dive was at a different Lanai location that was not one of the Cathedrals. After the trip, Dive Maui explained that they do not normally conduct dives at both Cathedral sites on the same day and that site selection depends on conditions and the divers onboard. I fully respect the importance of safety and found the crew professional and friendly throughout the trip. My disappointment is with the expectation created by the trip description. Had I known in advance that visiting both Cathedrals was not normally part of the itinerary, I would likely have chosen a different operator. Future divers whose main goal is to see both First Cathedral and Second Cathedral should clarify the expected itinerary before booking and compare the options offered by different Maui dive operators.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Five Stars – Fantastic Family Dive Experience with Dive Maui! Our family of four (including two teenage daughters, ages 13 and 18) had an outstanding experience with Dive Maui, and we’d happily dive with them again. Captain Marina set the tone for the day from the moment we stepped on the boat. Her positive energy was absolutely contagious. Whether she was helping divers get organized, sharing local knowledge, or simply keeping everyone smiling, she made the trip feel welcoming, relaxed, and fun. Underwater, Brian was our dive guide, and he was exceptional. His pre-dive briefing was clear, informative, and engaging, including details about the marine life we might encounter. As we prepared to enter the water, I found myself wondering how one guide could effectively manage seven divers with obviously different experience levels. Somehow, Brian made it look easy. He struck the perfect balance between allowing each diver to “dive their own dive” while still keeping the group together and safe. Newer divers received support when needed, more experienced divers had room to enjoy the dive, and everyone benefited from Brian’s sharp eyes for marine life. He consistently pointed out creatures and features we would have easily missed on our own. The result was a dive that felt safe, professional, educational, and fun all at the same time—a combination that’s harder to achieve than it looks. If you’re looking for a Maui dive operation that combines excellent customer service, knowledgeable staff, and a genuinely enjoyable atmosphere, Dive Maui is a fantastic choice. Top dive shop in Lahaina. This shop is currently the only shop offering boat dive in Lahaina since the 2023 fire. We met in their small parking lot for pre dive checks. They were efficient n their preparation which I like. They assigned a chair for all the guests to keep track each person’s needs. In addition to the dive, I rented a fin, shorty wet suit, a dive light and GoPro. They had everything placed on the chair and gave me tutorial on using the GoPro. Once everyone checked in and tried on the rented gears, we were escorted to the dock where the pontoon boats were. We boarded the boat and Captain Marina, Jeff and Sean our two dive masters went over safety instructions, important safety instructions, dive signals and met with us individually to discuss weights. Vash 1 and Cathedral 1 were the 2 dives off of Lanai. We saw moral eels, a spotted ray, beautiful fishes and swam through beautiful coral/lava caves. Jeff was my dive masters. He was great spotting various marine interests for us and maintaining a watchful eye of the group checking our air pressure and asking if we are ok. The trip concluded with an unexpected sighting of a school of spinner dolphins. Captain Marina slow the boat and gave us a chance to enjoy the animated dolphins. It was a wonderful ending to a fabulous day. Thank you the crew of Dive Maui it was a memorable experience.

This is a GREAT dive company! Been all over the world and dove with the best. These guys are AWESOME! Brian, Sean, the Captains and crews were so much fun we didn’t want to go home. We started with two dives and ended up doing eight🤪🤪🤪🤪. Was starting to feel like we lived there! AND YOU HAVE TO DO THE SHARK AND TURTLE DIVE!!!! It is the most underpromised and over delivered dive in the history of man kind!!!! Have fun and dive safe!!!

We dove Wash Rock and Cathedrals 1 and had a wonderful experience. Our dive master, Dave, and the rest of the crew took great care of us. Dave was especially helpful when one of our group was experiencing some anxiety at the beginning of our first dive and he was able to help her work through it and successfully complete her dives. Would highly recommend this dive shop and will definitely book with them again on my next trip to Maui.

I was gifted a dive for my birthday and so very glad I came across Dive Maui in my searching. We did the Lanai Cathedrals and it was amazing. I had Chris as my group’s dive master. Caitlin was the other half of the group. Both were wonderful as was the captain. I’m a pretty inexperienced diver still and was really worried but that didn’t last long at all. They did great making me feel comfortable and helping me with any questions or concerns I had and it let me be able to be present and fully enjoy my time and enjoy the experience. Absolutely recommend. I looked up lots of reviews prior about air consumption because that was a main worry of mine- I didn’t want to be a reason the whole group had to surface. So for anyone else with that worry, don’t! They’re great at checking your air quantity throughout the dive and once you hit about 700, they’ll direct you to the boat, you’ll do your safety stop and then head up but the others with air left can still stay down and enjoy their time without being dragged up too 👍🏻 personally, I have no negative notes. If you’re on the fence of doing it, go for it!
