Excellent one day tour with a very friendly and knowledgeable driver/guide. Really enjoyed it. Highly recommended.
This was a really good tour into the countryside of Latvia and Lithuania. The Palace was the highlight but the Hill of Crosses and the Castle were worth seeing too "Elvis" our giide was excellent and his commentary was factual and entertaining. He aslo knew when to have a break. He supplied water and a chocolate and was very attentive Our driver was safe and kept to the speed limit We are glad we did it
A great trip - the palace is fantastic, the castle was better than expected and the trip to the Hill of Crosses, while not much to look at, it was great to go into Lithuania and the photos at the border were good fun.
This was a wonderful and varied day out. The hill of crosses is very atmospheric and unique in the region. The Rundake palace is extensive and beautiful. The castle is fun and has terrific views of the countryside. Our guide was friendly and informative. The whole day was a great experience.
The tour was fantastic, worth every Euro! It's a full day of visiting and driving through the countryside; I personally enjoyed the mix of walking, learning, sightseeing and the calmness of driving through beautiful scenery....and yes, each destination was an impressive discovery. Internet photographs do not do justice to the scale and sense of presence and rich history of each site, one has to see them in person. Our Latvian Gem guide was very informative, well-learned about the places we visited, truly attentive (thinking about pit stops!), engaging and very professional.
My wife and I greatly enjoyed this trip. From first contact, our guide Erlens was personable and professional. He was both easy to understand and easy to talk with. We enjoyed each stop and it was the perfect amount of “tour guidance” and “explore on your own”. We were pretty blown away by Rundle Palace and the tour that Olafs gave was full of rich history and humor to engage us more. Latvia and the other Baltics are a gem and I will definitely tell friends that this is a must see destination and a great tour to do while there.
Great experience with a amazing host full of knowledge. We all had a great day exploring all three locations
We took this tour and were very impressed by the guide, the sites and the depth of both. Viesturs picked everyone up and was both informative as well as humorous throughout the day. The castle and palace were interesting, providing a glimpse of Latvian historical life, each in different ways. We were fortunate that the tulips were in full bloom at Rundale Palace, and they were spectacular. We were a group of five, and traveled at different speeds, but Viesturs was very accommodating and easy to work with. His recommendations for some meals at Rundale were appreciated and spot on. I admit that I was originally a bit dubious about the Hill of Crosses, but it was a moving space and I am glad we saw it. Communication with the company was clear and good. We looked at several types of Rundale Palace tours before booking this one and I would recommend this tour and this company without reservation. This was probably one of the most enjoyable tours we have experienced in years.
10/10 experience. Had great and informative guide, and they have lots of offerings that are all well worth it. Had a small group, so they let us have a lot of leeway on how the trip was done, and it was a blast. We went on another tour with them to Jurmala, which I recommend too!
The tour of a castle, palace and Hill of Crosses was excellent. Our guide provided perfect information everywhere, and we were very comfortable in the tour van.
