This tour was very informative & our guide was SO knowledgeable. We had the ability to get off of the bus to view the sites more & we learned SO much more about the civil war which was wonderful. Our kids ages 11 & 14 really enjoyed the history lesson & actually seeing the battle fields. I highly recommend this tour.
Fabulous. Great history. Leaned a lot more than I knew. Fabulous licensed guide. Minnesota regimen did a lot more than I knew. And these were ordinary men, and some women, who wanted freedom. Not trained soldiers but ordinary people.
We had a pretty bad experience with the first bus not cooling snd then bus number two the same. I have to say they were very understanding and gave us a full refund.
We had an air-conditioned coach bus with a knowledgeable and entertaining tour guide. The tour was informative and very pleasant even in the extreme heat. Highly recommend!!!
This was a very informative tour. We traveled as a large group: 5 adults, two teens, two elementary age kids. There were two breaks to get out and look around, hear additional stories. We probably would have more opportunities to get out, but it was 104 degrees the day we went. I would highly recommend for groups who are interested in the history of the battle.
So much history, so many monuments, so many battles - all craftfully described by incredibly knowledgeable guides. Busses are comfortable and guides tailor each tour based on the crowd. For us, the guide pointed out the Indiana 3rd Calvary monument, which my 2x grandfather was part of. We got out at Little Round Top to explore as well as at least one other monument as well. Well worth scheduling the time, and we got the combo ticket with the cyclorama tour as well.
We had a wonderful two hour tour in the comfort of an air conditioned bus on a 101 degree day! My wife and I are locals who took our friends from out of town on the tour. Having lived near Gettysburg for 34 years I was amazed at how much I did not actually know! The guide was exceptionally knowledgeable and help make the story of the battle come to life in a way that was informative and fun. They offered opportunities to get off the bus at various locations to further our understanding of key areas of the battle. I highly recommend the tour and would do it again. So much to learn about those incredible 3 days of American history!!
Bus driver and presenter worked together very well. Nice ride with breaks along the way. Presenter knew her history very well and made it fun for everyone with some quizzes
I honestly came away with nothing new, it was pretty much a retread of all the facts and figures I learned in school. It was interesting, could have been more so.
I love the Civil War in the battle of Gettysburg. I’ve been trying to get my nephew into it and we took this tour. Even though the man was nice, he spoke at such a ridiculous speed. It was hard to follow, and he was all over the place with his storytelling. As much as I love the history of all this, even I was bored so I couldn’t imagine what my nephew was feeling. He also kept mixing up left and right so it made it really hard to follow which part of the field he was talking about. I tip everybody for almost everything and I think this is the first time in a long time I could not justify a tip for this tour guide. It was a horrible experience and nobody got out of the bus to look at anything when we stopped. The only thing we were really looking forward to was getting out at little round top and since nobody wanted to, we didn’t want to be the ones that held everybody up. The way that should’ve been handled was that they say that we stay there for 10 minutes and if anybody wants to stay on the bus they can that way nobody feels guilty for making everybody wait. It was two hours of complete boredom. I tried going on my phone to show my nephew parts of the battlefield in the map so at least try to partially follow what the man was saying. I’m very familiar with the battle but for somebody who isn’t, they were no way they could follow what he was saying. There was also unnecessary descriptions of stuff that could’ve been passed, and he could’ve focused more on the actual battle instead of jumping around from different days. Will never do this again. I wish I can get a refund, but obviously that’s not gonna happen.
