We understand that jungle trekking can feel different depending on previous trekking experience and, of course, wildlife sightings cannot be guaranteed every day. We are particularly concerned to hear about your illness after the trek. The health and safety of our guests is extremely important to us, and we take any report regarding food or hygiene very seriously. We’re sorry that you experienced these symptoms. However, we would like to mention that this was not reported to our team while you were still in Bukit Lawang. If we had known at the time, we would have immediately spoken with you, checked the situation with our cooking team, and done everything possible to assist you. As you can imagine, it is also difficult to determine the cause of an illness after the fact, as food poisoning can have different causes and symptoms can sometimes appear after consuming food or drinks from various places. Nevertheless, we take your comments seriously and will use them to review our food preparation and hygiene procedures with the team. We’re sorry that you left with a negative impression and appreciate you bringing your concerns to our attention.
