10 ore di guida invernale a Denali in Alaska

Descrizione

Scopri come piante, animali e esseri umani adottano strategie creative per sopravvivere all'estremo freddo invernale dell'interno dell'Alaska. Goditi una breve passeggiata nella natura o con le ciaspole per vedere da vicino la bellezza del parco su un breve sentiero naturalistico. Questa è un'esperienza di tour soft, non un'escursione avventurosa.

We were guided by Norm, who was very knowledgeable and friendly. He answered everyone's questions and wore a mic so the people in the back of the van could hear. There were nine of us so everyone got to know each other. Norm pointed out different animal tracks along the way and even stopped to look at a moose along the highway. We stopped frequently for the bathroom/snacks, which was nice. The weather wasn't the best going into Denali, but once we entered the park the scenery changed in such a magical way. We didn't get to see Denali itself, but the park was beautiful. My favorite part was getting to visit the Canine Rangers aka the dogs that pull the sleds in Denali. There was about an hour of waiting in the van for some of the other passengers' train to arrive. I feel like we were rushed a bit through the park and then all of a sudden we were waiting at the train station. I couldn't do anything but take a nap until their train arrived. I do wish we were able to split off in some way to make the most of our time, but I also understand the safety aspects. I genuinely feel like I could've been in the park for much longer. Also the windows in the back of the van were frozen/foggy the entire way, so couldn't look outside, hopefully there's some way to combat this for future travelers. Overall, it was a nice trip with fantastic views, was grateful we got dropped back off at our hotel. I'm hoping my concerns get addressed for other people that book in the future, but would still recommend the tour regardless.
Thank you for joining us and Norm on the Denali Winter Drive Adventure. So glad you could get out and enjoy it -- the word is finally getting out that the park is NOT closed in the winter and many of us locals love getting out and exploring it in the winter. Thank you for the feedback on your wait - sending it to the guides and operations to explore options for future groups. Thank you,
It was a cold day in Denali but a great day. Our guide Robert told wonderful stories and gave us a lot of information about the area. He made sure we were comfortable in the extreme weather. The stop in Nanana is a great chance to see a local village. If you are looking to spend an enjoyable day, we highly recommend this tour. It is a lot of time in the car but worth it to see the Alaska landscape
We are so glad you enjoyed your time out with Robert and got to enjoy Denali. Thank you for choosing us and sharing with others about your experience. Happy New Year!
Had a delightful time on this tour to Denali. I wanted a day activity in between nights out for auroras. This was perfect. Weather was great - cold, but sunny. Our tour guide, young gal, now I don't remember her name. But she was engaging, provided history and nature highlights along the way. Our stop in Nenana - the general store provided good sandwiches and we filled in with snacks and water we bought there. The info about the Nenana Ice Break Up Lottery - very interesting; now I'm in for 3 tickets, thanks to this tour - a fun souvenir. Maybe I'll win! On to Denali, the mountain was 'out' - visible and in the sun. A rare sight. We also saw moose on our short hike. We lunched in the enclosed picnic shelter. The scenery was great! Two of our group had arranged to take the Aurora Train back to Fairbanks from Denali. I didn't realize the train made a stop there. It was great photo op, too. All in all a nice group to travel with - I felt included even though going solo. Highly recommend this tour, and this company.
Thank you so much for sharing with others your experience with us and the Denali Winter Drive Adventure. So glad you enjoyed your experience. Thank you for the recommendation. Happy Travels!
We go with Tim today, our tour guide and driver. Even though the weather was bad - it was snowing all day, Tim was very patient and extremely knowledgeable. He made the trip educational for us, he knows a lot of things, you can ask him basically anything🙌🏻 Although we did not see Denali peak due to the weather, we had a great time walking in the trail and also saw a moose and a showshoe hare! Tim made sure we are all safe, and we are super grateful for being in his team!☺️
Thank you for exploring Denali with Tim. We are so glad you enjoyed your adventure. Happy Spring!
Tim was a wonderful guide. He is well informed, entertaining, and covered a wide range of topics from history of Alaska as a territory, then as a a US State, the creation of the Park, the Trans Alaska Pipeline, the oil industry, details about the landscape, the permafrost, the animals, and Fairbanks. We thoroughly enjoyed his commentary! What beautiful landscape traveling to and from Denali! We had several photo opportunities along the way. We stopped to view the wildlife, went to the visitors center, and took a 0.6 mile nature hike. Tim even let us try out some snow shoes! Ha! My family and I truly enjoyed this experience and I would highly recommend it!!
Thank you so much for taking the time to share with others your experience. We are so glad you enjoyed your time out with Tim. Best wishes for a bright spring! (which, it decided to snow today proving we have a little more winter in us before summer).
Very informative! Multiple stops along the way to Denali to show different animals, rivers, the very important town of Nenana. Small little walk through the Boreal forest was breathtakingly beautiful. Unfortunately, we did not get to see Denali because it was snowing the day we were there. But the overall experience was absolutely amazing! Sarah was our tour guide and she was phenomenal! Really enjoyed this tour and would highly recommend it!
Thank you so much for taking the time to share with others about your experience with us on the Denali Winter Drive Adventure. Thank you so much! Happy spring.
Review for John – Denali Tour Guide We had an incredible experience on our Denali tour with John! From the start, he was friendly, caring, and extremely knowledgeable. He shared fascinating insights about Denali and Alaska in general, giving us a deeper appreciation for the area’s history, wildlife, and people. John was patient and engaging, answering all of our questions with enthusiasm. During our hike, he went the extra mile by providing cleats for our boots, ensuring we had secure footing on the trails. Afterward, he treated us to warm beverages, which was a thoughtful and much-appreciated touch. The entire day was well-organized and thoroughly enjoyable. We left with a greater understanding of Denali and wonderful memories of our time there. If you’re looking for a top-notch guide who truly cares about his guests’ experience, we highly recommend John!
Thank you so much for sharing details about your time out with John on the Denali Winter Drive Adventure. We appreciate your recommendation and so glad you enjoyed your day out with us.
They overbooked my bus and three of us were crammed into seats for two people. Despite plenty of empty spaces, they refused to let us park in their lot and plug in to avoid engine freeze. Management is purely profit driven and has no sense of customer service. It’s a scam and a pricey one at that
Dear William, It may be best for you to call us to talk about what you think is a scam. The two items you have mentioned are not scams. VEHICLES - For the Denali Winter Drive we don't travel in a bus -- we travel in 15 passenger vans which yes, we take the last seat out so our emergency gear and any larger guest bags can go back there. That does leave seating for 10 guests -- 3 guests per the remaining 3 bench seats plus 1 person in the front passenger seat -- all with their own seatbelt. None of the bench seats on our Ford Econoline vans are made for just 2 people. Not a scam. Parking - the guest parking lot is the East Ramp Parking Lot #2. The map with this information was sent to you at the time of confirmation if you booked direct or to your travel agent if you booked via an agent. We are very clear there are no plug ins and if one can to leave their car at their hotel, Bnb, rental and take a shuttle or an Uber or taxi on extreme cold days that may be best. If you do park there it is correct, there are no plug in. Did your engine freeze and not start when you returned? If yes, we are able to assist you with that -- did your engine freeze? Did you ask for assistance? If you did and didn't get any -then yes, please let us know as that should not have happened; however, if your car did start or we did provide assistance and it started we are not sure where the scam is. If you are saying it took time to warm the car up once you started it ... that is normal in the winter, even when you plug your car in you will need to run it to warm the car up. Not a scam. Again William, we do not know where the scam plays with what you have written. If we have missed something in what you have written I invite you to please call us so we can understand as we do care. Outside of what you have written we hope you did enjoy your time out with us and enjoyed the rest of your time in Alaska. Best wishes for a bright new year.
Great trip! Perfect day to go Denali. Not a cloud in the sky! Gorgeous views of the mountains and a nice nature walk. Norm was a very informative guide. I would highly recommend this tour!
Thank you for joining Norm on your Denali Winter Drive. We are so glad you enjoyed your day. Happy New Year!
We thoroughly enjoyed this experience. Don, our guide and driver was superb. The info he gave us was wide ranging, interesting and detailed. The snowshoeing and sledding was great fun and the tracks he found in the snow delightful. The hot drinks and candy treats were much appreciated. He went out of his way to accommodate us. Our fellow adventurers were lovely people too. Although a long day it was interesting and most enjoyable. Jackie and Patrick.
Thank you for joining Don on the Denali Winter Drive Adventure. So glad you enjoyed the outing. Best wishes for a bright winter!
