Pleasant and personable hostess. Good direction in locating. Didn’t know what to expect, so chose clothes that could stand up to chocolate dripping, but that was not necessary. Overall a nice experience.
We were greeted by Jude when we arrived. Jude and Jesse were very knowledgeable hosts. They were so organized and fun. We tasted 14 types of chocolate, saw two types of cacao pods and tasted the inside of the pod aka beans. I’d recommend this to anyone who enjoys great chocolate.
We truly enjoyed learning about the orchards, the cocoa pods, the process and everything in between. Jude was a most excellent host, very knowledgeable and a pleasure to meet and learn from. The chocolate tasting was amazing! Who knew that there's so much more to it... And wow the flavors! Great experience! It was a rainy day so we did not tour the farm, but enjoyed beautiful views while sampling delicious local chocolate. We definitely stocked up on chocolate❤️
Staff were so fun and knowledgeable! Beautiful location and best of all, delicious chocolate. If you are a chocolate lover and curious about where it comes from , this place is for you .
My husband and I went for a chocolate tasting. We learned so much about cacao, the growth stages, tasting notes for chocolates, what cacao fruit, juice, tea and brew taste like. They had fresh fruit grown on site for us to snack on too. The site is beautiful and an open air, well covered area over looking the cacao orchards high on a hill. We also learned about cacao harvests and how they are finding chocolate from different seasons and different years has different tasting notes—much like fine wine. Our guide was great fun and even though it was a large group, we all got individual attention. Hawaii clearly has some top notch chocolate. Of course, we took a couple of bars home. Thank you!
Awesome experience. You get to try a lot of chocolate and learn the history of the chocolate and the farm. Also BEST port-o-lets I have ever had to use ❤️!!!
This is a so recommended experience to do if you come to the Big Island. This wonderful chocolate experience is in Hilo. It is worth it every mile to travel to get there. We are staying in Kona. It is a lovely drive. Jude and the rest of the team were terrific.. we learned so much about cacao and its history and all the process and of course we got to try several different kinds of chocolate since the very seed until the whole chocolate. We also tried cacao tea and a juice made of the cacao fruit which was delicious. I seriously recommend this experience. We loved it so very much .
An outstanding experience!! Would highly recommend this excursion if you have any extra time n the Hilo area. Our AirBnB host recommended it to us. It is a small family owned cacao farm that produces craft chocolate. The tasting was so informative. It is very comparable to a wine tasting and 14 varietals were sampled during the tour. We did not have the time to take the full farm tour but would have loved to do that. Wren, the owner/farmer, gave a very informative lecture on the history of cacao and described how it is processed. He was very passionate about his trade and made the event quite personable. I would highly recommend this tour for anyone with an interest in history, manufacturing and/or who is a chocolate lover!
Very friendly, good information and plenty of delicious dark chocolate. Will go again with friend and do the linger tour.
Very informative. Learned about drinking chocolate and had to bring some home with me. Bar chocolates were very decadent.
