Parco nazionale di Nyungwe Una delle foreste pluviali più antiche in Africa, Nyungwe è ricca di biodiversità e straordinariamente bella. La regione montuosa si unisce alla fauna selvatica, tra cui una piccola popolazione di scimpanzé e altre 12 specie di primati, tra cui l'endemica della scimmia di L’Hoest al Rift Albertine.

Piantagione di tè del Ruanda: I terreni e i climi perfetti del Ruanda sono responsabili della creazione del tè, una delle bevande più famose al mondo. Si possono vedere piantagioni di tè che coprono le dolci colline del Paese, per creare un contrasto straziante con i cieli blu, le strade sterrate pulite e il sole. Si possono organizzare gite per visitare le piantagioni di tè e sono adatte a piccoli, gruppi, famiglie e anche bambini. Durante i viaggi, imparerai come il tè viene piantato, curato, raccolto e lavorato per trovare la sua strada sulla tua tavola a casa. Il Ruanda ha un gran numero di piantagioni di tè che costituiscono la più grande esportazione di Tea Rwanda. Offrendoti così una varietà di opzioni di piantagione da visitare. Tuttavia quelli che sono comunemente visitati sono più vicini al parco nazionale di Nyungwe che si trova a Gisakura e Gisovu.
King's Palace Ricostruzione della tradizionale residenza reale, il Palazzo del Re è un'abitazione di paglia splendidamente realizzata a forma di alveare. Nei tempi antichi, Nyanza era il cuore del Ruanda. Secondo la tradizione orale, era il sito di battaglie e lotte di potere. Per molto tempo, la monarchia era mobile, spostando la corte tra varie posizioni. Quando alla fine si stabilì in un posto, Nyanza era la scelta ovvia. La capitale del regno contava fino a 2.000 abitanti e le capanne costruite con gli stessi metodi qui visti. Sul retro vivono alcuni bovini Inyambo dalle lunghe corna, discesi dalla mandria del re, i cui custodi tendono con cura e cantano per loro, mantenendo viva una tradizione unica. Le eleganti mucche, derivate dalla razza Ankole più ampia, hanno svolto un ruolo importante durante le cerimonie in onore del re. Erano decorati con ricchi gioielli e gli veniva insegnato ad ascoltare le canzoni di un allenatore e seguire i suoi movimenti in una maestosa sfilata.

- Il Canopy Walkway nel Nyungwe National Park è un ponte sospeso a 70 m sopra la grande foresta di Nyungwe. La passeggiata guidata tra i cespugli è lunga 160 m - 200 m e dura circa 2 ore sul ponte sospeso
- La passeggiata tra i pini è un tour guidato a cui possono partecipare persone di 6 anni e oltre. Sebbene un bambino di 6 anni possa fare la passeggiata, è consigliabile che gli adulti accompagnino sempre i bambini. La passeggiata si fa tutto l'anno, tuttavia è molto meglio e più facile nelle stagioni secche, quando la passerella è molto più asciutta. Le stagioni secche in Ruanda vanno da giugno a settembre e da dicembre a febbraio.
- La passeggiata sul Canopy Walk offre ai suoi escursionisti splendide viste sulla grande regione dell'Africa orientale, sul lago Kivu e sulle diverse sezioni della foresta di Nyungwe, mentre possono avvistare i diversi animali, uccelli, insetti, rettili e anfibi che vivono nella foresta.

- Il programma della passeggiata tra le chiome degli alberi è alle 8:00, alle 10:00, alle 13:00 e alle 15:00. La passeggiata inizia dall'Uwinka Reception Centre; questo è anche la sede centrale del Nyungwe National Park. Presso l'Uwinka Reception Centre i visitatori vengono informati sulla passeggiata e viene assegnata loro una guida; qui è anche possibile acquistare oggetti come bastoni da passeggio, impermeabili, ecc. se non li si ha già perché servono per la passeggiata. Dopo la sessione presso l'Uwinka Reception Centre, ci si sposta con una guida al sentiero lgishigishigi e poi al ponte sospeso di 160 m che è sospeso su enormi alberi robusti in cima all'antica foresta di Nyungwe ricca di biodiversità.

We highly recommend this tour! We were picked up promptly at 5am for a four hour ride from Kigali to the national park. Jonathan, our driver, was responsive and accommodating to any request and always with a smile, shared information about Rwanda’s culture and answered our plethora of questions. He made short stops along the way so we could take pictures of monkeys and baboons we saw next to the road and made sure all our needs were addressed. The park experience was fantastic. The guides were knowledgeable, excited to share this gorgeous environment with us and made sure we were comfortable at all times. The food at the park was very good. It made for a fun and interesting day. We are happy we chose this tour. Thank you again Jonathan!

We spent an exciting and meaningful day at Nyungwe National Park, canopy walk plus Gisakura tea plantation. We were lucky enough to see three different kinds of monkeys but the canopy walk in itself worth doing. Beautiful rain forest. The road from Kigali and back is looooong but I feel I saw so much on the way too that I would do it again. Silverbird Agency was very easy to communicate with, they were quick to answer and flexible with any possible vis major (l almost missed connections that would have effected the tour). Lunch at the national park was lovely, try the spice tea! Our guide Jonathan was comfortable to be around with, was happily answering questions, had great resources for the trip. Also on a long drive on quite difficult roads (lots of ups and downs and curves and people walking by the road, sometimes heavy traffic) it was very important that Jonathan was a patient and smooth driver, I felt safe on the road.
