È una famosa destinazione turistica nella provincia di Hunan che è stata ufficialmente riconosciuta come patrimonio mondiale dell'UNESCO nel 1992. La formazione a forma di pilastro vista attraverso il parco è il risultato di molti anni di erosione. Con oltre il 90% di copertura forestale, l'area panoramica comprende Yuanjiajie, Yangjiajie, Jinbian Stream e Wulongzhai. La cultura e il folclore minoritario sono rappresentati nei villaggi e nelle città vicine, abitate da persone Tujia, Bai, Miao e Hui, che rendono utili le gite secondarie.
È l'ascensore turistico più alto e più veloce del mondo e offre una vista spettacolare sulla foresta di arenaria. Ha un'altezza di 326 metri e può trasportare 3.000 persone all'ora nei tre ascensori trasparenti. Ci vogliono solo 88 secondi per raggiungere la cima della montagna.
Yuanjiajie si trova nell'angolo settentrionale del Parco Nazionale di Zhangjiajie. My Zhangjiajie avatar mountain and glass bridge was great ! We had an awesome guide tour here name is Lillian . Even though our flight got delayed she gave us excellent service she waited for us checked on our flight delay and pick us up and dropped us off from airport she managed to still help us complete our tour she is very nice ! Overall great experience , incredible sightseeing view !

You could do this by yourself but why take the stress? It's a maze of queues, buses, cable car, lift, etc. Buses have multiple stops so you have to know where to alight. It's tickets and passports and face scanning. The glass bridge area is about 45m from the Avatar area and has separate admission, etc. BTW Tianmen mt is not on this tour. We thought it was well worth the price to have a guide. We got lucky w Amy who is the best guide we have had in many countries and many tours. She is friendly, funny and knows exactly where to go. The process was stress free.

Arianna was an excellent guide. She was knowledgeable, friendly, and allowed us to select specific activities that enhanced our tour (e.g. zipline, slide, and ferreta/cliff climbing). Tip for the slide - remove your shoes if wearing socks. Otherwise your rubber soles will slow you down significantly. The national park is spectacular. Lots of steps, shuttle rides on curvy roads, photo opportunities and snack options. Public restrooms are plentiful.

The tour was amazing from start to finish. A really nice car, there was so much to do in the tour and the guide Lillian was just exceptional. She was intelligent, multilingual, so well organised and she was kind and warm and attentive. She really made sure that we had a fun amazing experience and her descriptions and knowledge of the tour spots were perfect. Honestly probably the best organised tour I’ve ever been on. We had good viewing weather despite rain and the landscape (Avatar inspiration scenery!) is unbelievable and the elevator, glass bridge, cable car etc. are all exceptional. On what we experienced, I would strongly recommend, 10/10 from me. Thank you so much Lillian.
