Zone géothermique de Landmannalaugar - Super Jeep Day Tour

Our pre-booked Fimmvörðuháls Hike and Fjallabak Super Jeep tours could not go ahead: the first due to insufficient interest, and the second because the road was not yet open. As alternatives, we were offered a day tour to Landmannalaugar and the Þórsmörk Hike Day Tour. We chose both, and it was a great opportunity to explore two less accessible areas. Under Holly’s expert guidance — coincidentally on both days — we thoroughly enjoyed the drives, her explanations, the hikes, and above all the magnificent landscapes. The lunch boxes we ordered were generous and tasty. On the way back from Landmannalaugar, we had a flat tire and had to wait a while for the wheel to be changed — but that did not spoil the experience. In the meantime, we enjoyed the landscape and the beautiful rainbow that appeared. As compensation for the wait, we were offered a delicious hamburger when we returned, which we can recommend. We will need to return to Iceland one day to finally hike the Fimmvörðuháls Trail, and we would certainly choose this professional organization again.

I highly recommend Midgard Adventures and our tour guide Carlos. The superjeep was super clean and a great way to experience F type roads, of course the destination was the best part. To keep is simple, Carlos was an amazing guide, entertaining, informative, and a great person!

Solo older female traveler. Dramatic drive through the highlands to the geothermal area. The colors in the geothermal areas were stunning. Multi-colored hills, neon-green moss, dramatic lava fields, smoking hillsides. Unexpected: Farmers were driving sheep home from summer in highlands - memorable experience watching them drive the sheep across a river & down the valley.

We took this tour with the wonderful guide Anna. She made this beautiful tour an amazing lifetime experience for our group, with her endless knowledge and good vibe. The tour was absolutely amazing, we got to see the best of the Highlands, including a 2 hours great hike with breathtaking views. Very highly recommended!

We had a fantastic Super Jeep Tour into the Highlands with Midgard. Our guide David led the tour with a great sense of humor and deep knowledge about Iceland. Even though the weather in the Highlands can change extremely quickly, I always felt safe and well taken care of thanks to his experience. The scenery is truly breathtaking – at times it feels like being on another planet. For anyone who wants to experience Iceland in a very special way and has the time (and the budget), this tour is absolutely worth it!

This was one of the highlights for our trip to Iceland. Our tour guide Anna was simply fabulous - she was approachable, incredibly nice, and informative! She provided us with so many interesting facts about what we were seeing, as well as about the country of Iceland. We also stopped along the way to see a few very interesting sights. The hike itself was through some of the prettiest terrain I’ve ever seen. And after, we had time to enjoy the thermal spring. All in all, the day was full of beautiful sights and interesting conversations, and the group, which started as strangers, all felt like friends by the end of the day.

It was a fantastic experience, driving through some of the most extraordinary landscapes in the world and then walking in an absolutely unique and beautiful mountain range. We were all ecstatic.

Alessandro was the BESSSSSST. From the jump it felt less like we hired a guide and more like we picked up a buddy who just happened to know every secret corner of the Icelandic Highlands. He somehow managed to keep the vibe super chill while also dropping knowledge bombs about the landscapes, history, and random Iceland facts I did not even know I wanted. He read the group perfectly, knowing when to push the pace, when to slow down, and when to crack a joke. Honestly, the whole day felt like hanging out with one of my boys from back home, except my actual friends never drive monster trucks across rivers or make glacier views look casual. Midgard, if you are reading this: Alessandro is not just good, he is the type of guide that makes people want to book with your company again.

What a day!! Exploring this park with Midgard was awesome, thanks to a combination of driving to unreachable places by other means, hiking an amazing colourful special hike and being taken care of by our guide Alesandro who saw it as his mission to share incredible places with us. It was a small group which was great.

Can’t say enough great things about the staff. When our flight was cancelled, they worked tirelessly to help us get on another tour. The tour was amazing and the food was good. Definitely book with Midgard. They treat you like family.
