La ville de Windsor est surtout connue pour ses liens historiques avec la famille royale britannique, et elle est convenablement imprégnée d'apparat et d'histoire. Dominant le reste de la ville se trouve le château de Windsor, la maison ancestrale de la monarchie Anglaise puis britannique, et le plus grand château habité du monde. Il a été la maison familiale des rois et reines britanniques pendant près de 1000 ans et est aujourd'hui l'une des résidences officielles de Sa Majesté le Roi. Occupant plus de 10,5 hectares, le château offre une journée variée pour les visiteurs, y compris une visite des magnifiques appartements d'État et de la chapelle St George. Les appartements d'État du château sont meublés avec certaines des plus belles œuvres de la collection royale, reflétant les goûts changeants des occupants royaux du château, en particulier ceux de Charles II et George IV. Bon nombre des oeuvres d'art se trouvent encore dans les lieux historiques pour lesquels elles ont été rassemblées ou commandées pour la première fois par les rois et reines qui ont vécu à Windsor.

Our tour to Windsor Castle, Stonehenge and Oxford Our tour to Windsor Castle, Oxford, and Stonehenge was one of the highlights of our trip. The itinerary was well organized, giving us enough time to explore each destination without feeling rushed. And our Tourguide Pablo and bus driver were fantastic. Windsor Castle was absolutely stunning, with its rich history and beautiful architecture. Oxford was charming, and walking through its historic university streets was a wonderful experience. Stonehenge was truly awe-inspiring—seeing this iconic landmark in person was unforgettable. Our guide was knowledgeable, friendly, and shared fascinating stories throughout the journey, making the experience even more enjoyable. The transportation was comfortable, and everything ran smoothly from start to finish. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting England. My family and I had a wonderful day exploring Oxford, Stonehenge, and Windsor with our guide, Sasha! She was incredibly knowledgeable, was enthusiastic and joyous about the information that she shared, and so helpful along the way answering questions and guiding us through the various sights. It was the perfect amount of time at each stop and there were plenty of opportunities to grab a drink/food and use the facilities. Harry Potter fans should definitely check out the Balliol College at Oxford too see inspirations for the great hall and various aspects of the Hogwarts Castle. The only drawback of the trip was that Windsor Castle is closed on Tuesday and Wednesdays. We didn’t know this when we booked. Sasha was excellent at offering alternative ideas! Our bus driver Levian made us feel very safe and the ride was seamless!
