Our family with two children travelled from London to Sri Lanka and spent one day in Wilpattu. The company Manager Mr Dhanushka Weerasinghe was very helpful with providing all the information we needed for the safari. Our guide Mr Pasindu Rathnayake helped us to spot many birds, deers, wild elephants, crocodiles and many more. A partial refund was given to us because my husband and I hold dual citizenship. Thanks for giving us an unforgettable experience!
We had a really wonderful Jeep trip. Sadly we didn't spot the elusive leopard although did see fresh leopard prints on the road edge. We did see lots of deer, a water buffalo, several elephants in the water, several miles and lots of birds including several eagles.

Join the two of them on a morning safari through Wilpattu. Friendly driver, nice jeep and lots of birds and animals spotted. Unfortunately not the ‘Big Two’, leopard and elephant, but spectacular were the water buffalo, golden jackal and a special mention for the beautiful peacocks.
Most of the half day safari was literally dampened by light rain, but we did see a few rare animals. We saw three bears and the highlight was seeing an elephant near the end of the drive. There were loads of deer , some buffalo and various birds. We evidently just missed seeing a leopard by five minutes. Anyway, most of the park is quite dense bush with a few lakes. Good for the animals to hide in! I’m glad I didn’t go for a more expensive option or hire a tracker as it was just luck if you were there at the right time when an animal appeared.
The full-day safari at Wilpattu National Park with a guide was an unforgettable experience. From the early morning start to the golden sunset, we explored diverse landscapes filled with natural lakes, dense forests, and open plains. Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable, pointing out animal tracks, bird calls, and sharing stories about the park's history and wildlife. We were lucky to spot a leopard, several elephants, sloth bears, and many bird species. The peaceful atmosphere and fewer crowds made the experience even more special. Lunch near a waterhole added to the charm. A perfect day for nature and wildlife lovers!
