We really enjoyed the trip. We managed to see the whale. Lots of spaces on the deck to see the view.

What a trip! Whales in every direction!! We saw feeding, fin flapping, flakes galore, and whales right by the boat. Simply an amazing trip!

It was cancelled because of the weather. I appreciate safety first! I am waiting for my refund. She told me it would be at the desk
Dear Guest, I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to seek clarification regarding the nature of the 1-star review that was recently left. Unfortunately, while we strive to provide the best experience possible, there are certain factors beyond our control, such as the weather and sea conditions, which can sometimes be rough here in Iceland. Please be assured that we have already notified Viator about this matter, and you will be receiving a refund through them. If you have any additional questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to us. We are here to assist you in any way we can. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. Best regards, Reykjavík Sailors Team
We were nervous of being sea sick but they handed out motion sickness tabs at the beginning for free. The boat was not that rocky anyways. The boat & guide spotted a humpback whale and the guide did an excellent job explaining all about the whale and where the sightings of the whale coming up for air is happening. It was great to see it up close. Plus you can see all the puffins flying along the water while you cruise to and from the whale spotting location. It was a great trip.
Hello, Thank you for your wonderful review! We're so glad to hear you had a great trip and that any worries about seasickness were quickly put to rest. We always try to make everyone as comfortable as possible from the start. It’s fantastic that you got to see a humpback whale up close and enjoyed the guide’s explanations — and those puffins are always a fun bonus along the way! We really appreciate you joining us and hope to welcome you back again in the future. Best regards, Reykjavik Sailors
Impressive operation - bay was busy with up to 7 boats, but our skipper always seemed on the spot and got great views of Humpback & Minke whales. Always respected the whales and never tried to get too close. Guide Oscar exceptional!
Hello, Thank you for your kind feedback! We're so pleased to hear you had a great experience and that our crew, especially the skipper, helped you enjoy fantastic views of both humpback and minke whales — all while keeping a respectful distance. Oscar will be thrilled to hear your praise — he’s truly passionate about what he does. We’re glad he helped make the tour even more memorable! Best regards, Reykjavik Sailors
A total must have during trip to Iceland. We went for a cruise in the morning and saw a big pod of dolphins, few puffins and a gorgeous whale. One of the best experiences ever, I totally recommend! The guide (Alice) was very well-spoken and told us amazing fun facts about marine life 🐳

An exciting experience, the crew is friendly and helpful. We saw whales up close and could take lots of pictures

We went out in very cold and choppy waters, but the company provided seasickness tablets for you to take prior to boarding, and I have to say they worked! We were a little disappointed that conditions meant that although we did see two whales, we did not see much of them at all. The first whale we were chasing out to see and then the captain suddenly decided to leave that one because of the choppy waters. The minky whale we saw next didn't really show very much, but it was still an awesome experience. My only negative was that upon the return journey back to the port, the waves were so choppy that my husband fell to his knees, which scared me considerably as the boat really listed to the side.

A first class operation! A fabulous experience. It is amazing how many whales you can see so close to the capital city of Iceland, We had a ten-hour layover on our way to Spain and took advantage of the down time. The trip was well organized and the guide, Lucas, was amazing. Lucas was knowledgable and entertaining. Of course, the highlights of the trip were the whales. We briefly saw some Harbor Porpoises, had many views of Minke Whales, and a LONG, LEISURELY encounter with a massive Humpback Whale! WONDERFUL!!!

At least we saw dolphins and little bits of a humpback whale. Unfortunately, the captain kept turning the prow toward the group of cetaceans, so only those at the front of the ship could see anything valuable. Considering the size and length of the broadside, I consider this very inconsiderate!! If the boat had been turned broadside to the group of cetaceans, pretty much everyone on board would have been guaranteed a very good self-seen view of the beautiful creatures. Considering that the business is all about the tourists and them having eyes on the whales, I was very disturbed that no one at Special Tours has thought to make viewing more accessible for those who are shorter, can’t handle the cold for long periods of time, can’t stand for long periods of time, start getting sick, or any and all other reasons. Plus, it’s just not fun to try cramming everyone into the prow for quick glimpses; so thoughtless and insensitive! I won’t ever recommend this tour or company! If you want to see whales with an enjoyable experience, go to Alaska!
