Excursion d'observation des baleines et île de Fitzroy au départ de Cairns
Description
Il n'y a guère d'expériences plus engageantes dans la nature que d'assister au comportement spectaculaire en surface des majestueuses baleines à bosse. L'activité à Cairns culmine entre la mi-juillet et la fin août et fait partie d'une migration annuelle de 10 000 km des eaux glaciales et riches en nourriture de l'Antarctique vers les zones de reproduction chaudes de la côte est de l'Australie. Dirigée par notre biologiste marin qualifié, cette visite instructive d’une heure et demie donne des aperçus captivants de l’anatomie, de la communication, du régime alimentaire, des habitudes migratoires et de l’état des populations de baleines.

Spectacular whale watching, Beautiful frisky Humpbacks with a blue sky and a calm sea. What more can you ask for.
Really enjoyed our trip today out to Fitzroy Island including Whale Watching tour. We were lucky to get a good look at one whale and saw a couple others blow but then they didn’t resurface for us unfortunately. While on the island I took the walk to Nudie Beach and had a nice swim and my hubby took the hikes up to the top of the island. Was a lovely day and we would highly recommend this trip.
One of the best experiences in my life! The crew were fantastic. We saw 7 humpback whales playing and the captain did an expert job navigating around them but still giving us a brilliant view and experience.
Unfortunately didn’t see any whales which was no reflection on the tour company ~ boat was clean, well equipped and seating was comfortable. Prior to the tour we had a few hours on Fitzroy to swim, explore ….
It was a dreary day. No fault of the crew. We looked and looked but finally saw a cow humpback whale and her calf. This was exciting and, of course, the highlight of the day. The marine biologist was excellent at explaining the migration of the humpback whales and how they lived. Shr couldn't have been better. Fitzroy Island was a bit of a disappointment - partially due to the weather - but also because there really was not that much to do on a drizzly day. The hike would have taken too long and it really would not have been easy to get to Nudey beach for snorkeling. I did snorkel just a tad around some boulders and saw quite a few fish, but I was not properly prepared to get dried off and was damp the rest if the day. A few extra towels, maybe some warm air blowing and some warm tea would have helped tremendously. I would have liked to give it a 4.6. They can't control the weather or what the whales will do.

This was an amazing experience. We saw whales on the journey to Frazer island and on the actual whale watching trip.
Great experience, we got to see the whales up close. Luckily for us the whales were in the vicinity of the island.
Was advertised as 4 hrs free time on Fitzroy Island but that wasn’t the case. I booked well in advance and was booked on the 2pm boat back and the 4pm was fully booked. Feel robbed of two hours. Didn’t get boarding passes until later the night before.
We had an up close whale experience with breaching. There was plenty of room on the boat and the water was calm. Plus we had an enjoyable island visit. Perfect day.

The staff were great and the cruise was very relaxing. Even though we did not see whale as it was end on the season we still enjoyed the trip.
