Croisière sur les baleines, les dauphins et les pingouins
Description
Notre croisière est unique en ce sens que nous opérons dans la baie d'Algoa, riche en faune et en histoire. Visite de l'île de Sainte-Croix, qui abrite la moitié des mondes des pingouins africains en voie de disparition. Cette excursion est exécutée une seule fois par jour au lieu d'essayer d'exécuter plusieurs croisières en une seule journée. Cela garantit que nos skippers et guides sont frais et alertes pour chaque croisière et permet de passer plus de temps et d'efforts à rechercher la faune dans notre baie ou à observer quelque chose de spécial que nous rencontrons à condition que personne à bord ne soit pressé d'obtenir de retour pour un vol ou des réservations précédemment effectuées. Notre objectif principal est l'éducation, la conservation et l'aide à la recherche, ce qui est rendu possible grâce aux fonds générés par nos éco-croisières marines dans la baie d'Algoa. Des arbres sont plantés pour équilibrer notre empreinte carbone pour chaque croisière effectuée. Nous utilisons des bateaux plus petits afin de garder nos croisières personnelles. Nos skippers et guides sont très compétents et sont là pour répondre à toutes vos questions et répondre aux besoins de nos clients.

Nous rencontrons nos invités à 8h du matin et après un bref briefing avant de nous diriger vers la magnifique baie d'Algoa de PE sur notre catamaran bimoteur. La saison des baleines commence en juin lorsque nous voyons des baleines à bosse se déplacer le long de la côte alors qu'elles remontent la côte est de l'Afrique vers leurs aires de reproduction. Les baleines à bosse peuvent être vues dans la baie d'Algoa de juin à début décembre. Ils font leur voyage de retour à partir d'octobre, femelles accompagnées de veaux. Des baleines franches australes peuvent être observées près du rivage de juillet à septembre.
Les grands dauphins indo-pacifiques sont les dauphins les plus fréquemment observés dans la baie et peuvent être repérés toute l'année, en groupes de 10 à 400. Ces dauphins espiègles se trouvent principalement dans les eaux peu profondes, soit près des plages ou autour de l'île de Sainte-Croix, et ont tendance à monter jusqu'au bateau et à longer les vagues de la proue. Les dauphins communs sont également un spectacle spectaculaire car ils sont vus en groupes de 1000 à 2000, nageant à grande vitesse. Ces dauphins sont souvent aperçus toute l'année plus loin en mer, en particulier lors des excursions sur les îles aux oiseaux, car ils suivent de grands bancs de poissons-appâts qui passent au-delà de la baie. Nous avons également des dauphins à bosse dans la baie d'Algoa, qui se produisent généralement en groupes beaucoup plus petits, entre 1 et 20, et sont le plus souvent vus pendant les mois d'été.
L'île Sainte-Croix abrite 12 000 manchots africains en voie de disparition, la plus grande colonie de reproduction trouvée en Afrique (bien que nous ayons perdu 70% en 10 ans). C'est ici que vous aurez une rencontre rapprochée avec ces oiseaux comiques. La saison de reproduction du pingouin africain atteint son apogée entre mars et mai, lorsque vous pourrez peut-être voir les poussins depuis le bateau. En plus des manchots africains, Sainte-Croix et l'île Brenton sont habitées par l'huîtrier noir d'Afrique en voie de disparition, les cormorans à poitrine blanche et les cormorans du Cap. Le groupe de l'île Sainte-Croix, avec le groupe de l'île aux oiseaux, est devenu une partie du parc national Addo Elephant, permettant aux gardes de patrouiller les îles à l'aide des efforts de conservation pour protéger la population de manchots africains. Comme ils sont protégés par la mer, veuillez noter que vous n'êtes pas autorisé à vous rendre sur les îles.
À côté des animaux mentionnés ci-dessus, vous avez la possibilité de voir des cormorans à poitrine blanche, des cormorans du Cap, des baleines de Bryde, des petits rorquals, des otaries à fourrure du Cap, diverses espèces de requins, des fous de Bassan et diverses espèces d'oiseaux pélagiques, notamment des sternes, des pétrels , skuas, shearwa-ters et albatros.

Wow, what an experience. Lloyd and the crew were wonderful. They were very professional and knowledgeable always happy to chat or answer questions. We saw a family group of Humpback Whales splashing and messing around. A raft of penguins out to sea and up on the island. Unfortunately the dolphins had another date but seals came out to play too. A truly amazing experience.
