Mathias was fantastic! We learned so much about Paraguayan history and he did a great job connecting the different sites around the city with information about pivotal moments or figures from the past. I was also impressed that Mathias was able to answer all of our random questions through the day (ie tourism statistics, history of the flag, current demographic/economic trends, etc). It was clear how passionate he is about sharing his country with us. Thank you Mathias!
Mathías is a young man passionate about history and delighted to share it. Unfortunately, since my walk was on a Sunday, the Independence House was closed and we could not enter. It would have hurt me a lot. It will be on another trip. P.S.: The restaurant recommended by Mathías at the end of the tour, at the corner with the Cathedral, is delicious. You must eat there.
One of the best walking tours I have done. Math has a really deep knowledge of Asunción, its history, its identity and Paraguayan culture. He does not limit himself to showing the places; he manages to explain how the city was formed and what makes it unique, always in a very pleasant and interesting way. In addition to being an excellent guide, he is a great conversationalist and a magnificent storyteller. His stories and anecdotes make the tour entertaining from beginning to end, and he answers any question with a lot of context and passion. Thanks to him, I really felt that I got the most out of Asunción. I recommend this tour without any doubt to anyone who wants to understand the city beyond its monuments and truly know the essence of Paraguay.
Wonderful day seeing the sites and learning so much about the history of Paraguay!
Mathias our guide was knowledgeable, personable, and passionate about all things Paraguay. Perfectly fluent in English he described the complicated history of this wonderful country through its museums and landmarks. Highly recommend!
Mathias gave one of the most thorough walking tours I’ve ever had the pleasure of going on. We even visited a museum my husband and I had visited the day before and Mathias still had new information to provide. My husband loves to ask questions and Mathias was always ready with an answer. I wouldn’t consider a visit to Asunción complete without his perspective. He was also really patient with catering the time to what worked for our travel, and adjusted the tour to accommodate the rain, which I appreciated.
Great tour to know Asunción’s history & highlights. Mathias has been a great tour guide. Recommend it!
Matías was amazing, the knowledge he has about his country and the important sites he showed Mex he goes into great details definitely would recommend taking time out of your day and learn more in depth about this city and country.
The guide is very knowledgeable about the history of Paraguay. He does a good job of explaining Paraguay.
Excellent tour. This tour turned out to be so much more than what the description was. I thought we would just be walking by the buildings instead we went into to many of them. Mathias was very knowledgeable about the events that took place in Asunción and the history of Paraguay. He was also wonderful to spend time with walking around the city.
