Nous arrivons à voir sur notre chemin, le marché (qui est en reconstruction), les charmantes rues étroites de la vieille ville et la beauté du port vénitien. Christos went out of his way to make the tour a brilliant experience. He knew the food venues and their owners really well and he had clearly done his research. There was a good variety too. The herb store and the olive oil store were especially good experiences. There was more than enough food for us to have lunch as part of the tour. I would highly recommend Christos and his food tour.
If you're visiting Chania, this food tour is an absolute must — Christos made the entire experience. From the moment we started walking, it was clear we were in the hands of someone who truly loves this island and knows it inside and out. Every stop came with a story, whether it was the history behind a family-run shop or the proper way to sip tsikoudia without wincing. The food itself was incredible — cheese, olives, pita gyros, warm bougatsa, and enough sweets to make you regret wearing tight pants — but what really elevated it was the personal touch. Our guide clearly had real relationships with the shop owners, and it felt less like a tour and more like being shown around by a local friend. We got to duck into a tiny herb store that only locals seem to know about — the kind of spot you'd never stumble on alone. The group size was small, so there was plenty of time for questions, and the guide happily went off-script whenever we got curious about Cretan culture, history, or just what to eat for the rest of our trip. By the end, we left stuffed, happy, and genuinely educated about Chania in a way no guidebook could manage. Highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to eat well and actually understand the place they're visiting. Christos made the whole thing unforgettable!
We travel a lot and have done food tours all over the world, and this was definitely one of the best. Christos was an amazing tour guide. He is super knowledgeable, friendly, and clearly passionate about Crete and its food. Every stop was delicious, and we learned so much about the local history, culture, and cuisine. I highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Chania.
Wonderful experience! Very knowledgeable and friendly guide, great food, lots of new learning. Totally worth it!
What an experience! Christos was a brilliant guide, a real gentlemen who was genuinely invested in his work. We visited many local Greek restaurants and everything we ate was explained. In between we visited a local herb shop where we had the pleasure of meeting Janus the owner who has all organic and natural herbs for cooking but also natural remedies. If you are interested in health and wellbeing like I am you will find this fascinating 👌 we finished off the tour with olive oil tasting which topped off a fantastic day. I couldn't recommend highly enough. Thank you Christos
John was an excellent tour guide who was passionate about both food and Chania. We listened to the other reviews and did not eat prior but still got stuffed half way through. Almost every stop the food was excellent, there was only one we weren’t thrilled about.
Our tour guide, Maria, was excellent. We experienced many local, well established, traditional eateries.
We loved spending the day with Maria. She showed us so much of the city, taught us some Greek phrases and stuffed us full of good food. The views of the city were amazing and we enjoyed the shopping too.
We had the best time on our walking tour with John. He was very knowledgeable about the area and the food was absolutely fantastic. This is a define must do while in Chania!
We had a great your with Christos tonight. He's a lovely warm and friendly guide, took us for delicious food and gave us a tour of the backstreets of Chania that we would have otherwise missed. Thank you!
