Wadi mujib is a 2-3 hour there and back hike up a canyon river. The surrounding nature is beautiful, there is very little rubbish and its really good fun. Getting there ~20 minutes drive from dead sea resorts/nearest large towns and 1-2 hours from dana biosphere, ma'in Spa etc. The only accommodation there seems to be mujab chalets but as the hike is 2-3 hours, its better to visit as a 1/2 day trip en route or from your hotel or elsewhere. Not sure about public transport. Entry (see photo) You arrive at the the official adventure centre. Different prices for foreigners/nationals (see photo). Can pay by cash or card. There are toilets/changing rooms etc. There are two trails, one dry and one wet. For the wet trail>you recieve a lifejacket (mandatory) for free. They encourage you to rent a wet bag when you pay (7-11 JOD in cash or depends on your bargaining skills). You need one. I went at the start of October following a drought and the water was still above your head in some places & you climb up waterfalls. You get completely soaked and can't hold your bag out the water etc. You will need to wear shoes with a good grip like trainers. It is better to wear long trousers that are tight at the top as when you climb up waterfalls there are usually people immediately below who can see up your shorts and also the force of the waterfall starts to push your pants down from the top. Guide/accessibility A guide is not mandatory for the siq/wet trail. There are no staff, protective head gear or lifeguards etc along the siq. If you are not confident with canyoneering then you may want a guide. Large parts of the walk involve pulling yourself up boulders with ropes against a strong water flow, climbing through high waterfalls, rickety ladders etc. When floating downstream in some areas you can quickly get sucked down some rocks by the flow. It is all really fun but abit scary and it would be really easy to get a serious head injury or fracture if you are not careful. There was noone around offering guide services, although I'm sure you can hire guides from the reception. You could also bring a guide with you from outside. The end point is a large waterfall where you then turn back. If coming from the south I advise stopping at for food before wadi mujib at NEA local food resturant https://maps.app.goo.gl/5deTo5QaTBdqP44a9
I’m an adventurer at heart and when I saw this gem of a tour I had to jump on it and book it right away. I was picked up on time by Mr. Basel who was not only a superior driver but also a great company to be with in this tour. I never felt rushed, he made sure I was taken care of and he even took pictures of me when we cross a sign for the Dead Sea. We reached our destination, Wadi Muji Siq trail and he helped me go through the process of going in and registering and off I am to see this wonderful area. You need water shoes/sneakers for this. When u first walk to the ramp , I was not expecting what I would see when I make the turn. But there it was, running water amidst both sides of rock formation with plants growing form the ground. It reminded me of those scenes in a movie and it was just amazing. I took much pictures! I had to select the best and I’ll let them speak for themselves. You need some form of physical endurance for this activity as you will be climbing in a rocky and wet terrain. It involves some pulling you self in a ladder with water coming down and maneuvering through rocks and wast deep or chest deep waters as you go further along so wear your life vest. Your reward a waterfalls that is nestled in the middle of somewhat gorge/canyon looking formation. It was magnificent! I loved every single bit of it. After i was finish, i came back and dried myself with my own towel so do bring one, and off we go to the Dead Sea Resort. At first I didn’t get the buzz of what it is but when I started to put the mud and experience me its benefits, soak on the Dead Sea and let it marinate me, I was hooked. My skin felt amazing! Rejuvenated and well it felt like there was some form of glycerin that made my skin so soft, somewhat slippery but it left my skin baby smooth!!!! I didn’t spend much time after taking pics as I wanted to mask my whole body which I only took 10 minutes max coz I felt tingling and I wash it off. Floated some more and just laid in the sun. This was a great experience especially after the hike. I felt relaxed and ready to go which Mr. Basel gave me ample time to enjoy myself and he showed up on time to pick me up. He then took me to Elmar Dead Sea Products where I got some shopping done and shipped my things back to NYC. I did some damage but am happy with it and Mr. Basel even helped me contacting them after I got back in the US just to get some updates. They were very nice and accommodating and I really like their products. We then ended our tour but I ask Me. Basel if he can show me what’s the national dish and where the locals eat and he happily took me there! Tawaheen Al Hawa! This place was massive and people are flocking this place. He tells me this is where the locals eat and when they wove this place, you know you’re in it for a good time and you’ll be going out full! I got the Mansaf and it came with other pre main dish sides. The amount of food…it was a spread! Delicious! I tried every single one of them not thinking I’m getting this amazing dish still. Mansaf came and it was prepared and deboned table side. The staff was more than friendly and made sure we were taken care. I felt like I was welcomed in a family place. This was special and I’m happy to have shared this experience with Mr. Basel. So if you’re up for some adventure, book this tour and ask for Mr. Basel! He is the best and I felt safe and like I was part of his family. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Superb canyon still "more or less" preserved: waterfalls, pebble beaches, a small current allows you to be carried from the furthest point towards the beginning. Course with ropes, vests, everything is secure and the course can be done in 1.5/2 hours round trip without great difficulty. Superb site.

The hike of Wadi Mujib was great with some amazing views. I would definitely add on the Dead Sea visit if you have never been. It was a nice conclusion to a long hike. Ramouni was a great driver as well
Thank you for your comments and for sharing your experience with us. The nicest complement that our team can get is your desire to return to Jordan with us. If you like outdoor activities, hiking, swimming, and waterfalls, then this is for you. The hike is 5km (3.1 miles) round trip. You begin at the mouth of the Majib river and hike through it through the river cut sandstone canyon and up the waterfall. After a good soaking in the cool, fresh water, you hike back out the way you came. Sandals, water shoes, or closed toed shoes you don't mind getting wet are recommended. Bathing suit is highly recommended as you will get wet - head to toe. Upon our return to the visitor's center, we headed to the Dead Sea to bathe in the mineral waters. It does sting a little when you first get in... 1 out of 10 on a pain scale. After a bit, hop out, and cover yourself in the mineral mud for 10 minutes or more. Your skin will feel baby soft afterwards. After our mineral soak, we had lunch. They had practically everything. Water is included. Any other drinks, including soda, are extra. After lunch we went back to the hotel. Mahmoud, our driver, was most excellent and took care of us the whole way. We were for want of nothing. If you want food and restaurant recommendations for later in your visit to Amman, he is a wealth of information.

I would highly recommend this tour. Our guide was Sami. We have travelled all over the world but he is the best tour guide we have had. He showed us the beauty of Jordan and really took his time to get to know us as a couple. He took us to sites that were not on the itinerary and we ended the evening with the best Kunafe we have tasted. Thank you Sami and Zaid Tours!

If I could give 0 I would. My flight was cancelled, and I didn’t know until 8 hours before the tour. Instead of being understanding and refunding me, they decided to tell me it was my fault that I was a no-show at the pickup, give me no refund, and also had the nerve to tell me they’d let me change the date but would charge me $50 more.
Oh, we are so very sorry that your flight got cancelled, you sent an email at 1 am and your tour is at 9 am. No one can attend you at this time! It is impossible, even if you expected so. Please take note that the cancelation policy accepted by you when you booked is 24 hours prior date of trip, and the driver already arrived to the hotel the day of your tour; so, no show as explained to you earlier. Put yourself in our shoes and be fair to us as well. This is why there are rules and regulations and the cancelation is our right, since driver and services are booked in advance. We offered to reschedule the date with change fee of 50 USD charge, as we have to rebook the services, but we are surprised you cancelled your trip completely to Jordan?! Weird, the airline did not reschedule your flight? Please contact the airline for refund, since this is not in our control and thank you for informing the readers that issues like this are not our responsibility. We do our best to please our clients and provide the best service as we are known for. However, this case is not in our hands. Thank you for your understanding.
Wadi Mujib is a fantastic place, need a couple of hours to complete the Siq Trail. Driver very professional and competent.

Absolutely worth doing during a trip to Jordan, very fun, done in August, we arrived around 11.30am and waited barely half an hour to enter, they sell absolutely essential rock shoes at the entrance and provide life jackets, even though when we were there the water was not particularly high; it's not really a walk and my wife and I stopped at the last waterfall just before the end, but for fear of trauma during the descent, while the children reached the end; swimsuit or shorts and t-shirt because you get completely wet, and any cell phones in waterproof bags, but not to be held in your hand because you need both arms
Thank you for your comments and for sharing your experience with us; we also appreciate your recommendations. We are truly happy to learn that you enjoyed your day tour, and encourage other clients to do the same with us. Looking forward to your next visit.
Super fun and must try experience. A life jacket and waterproof bag are provided, and if you don't have them you can buy rock shoes there. Recommended if you are fit enough because it is still quite tiring. You also have to be careful not to slip but along the route there are near the most difficult points that help you. On the way back you let yourself be carried by the current
