L'emblématique mosquée Koutoubiya a été construite au XIIe siècle sous le règne de l'empire almohade.Son nom signifie "bibliothécaires" car le quartier voisin était autrefois une plaque tournante pour les libraires et les érudits.C'est toujours un lieu de culte actif; les visiteurs peuvent juste admirer son superbe extérieur.La mosquée et sa tour présente une architecture almohade classique connue pour sa simplicité et sa symétrie.Elle a servi de modal pour ses mosquées jumelles dans l'actuelle capitale du Maroc Rabat et aussi la Giralda à Séville car elles ont toutes deux été construites par l'empire almohade au XIIe siècle.
Le jardin secret est situé au cœur de la vieille ville (Médine)C'était une section d'un vieux palais datin retour au 16ème siècle (dynastie Saadienne)Il a été construit au 19ème siècle.C'est une oasis paisible loin de l'agitation des quartiers voisins.Le jardin a été restauré récemment en 2016.Divisé en une partie exotique présentant des plantes du monde entier et une section islamique inspirée des anciens principes des jardins paradisiaques. Le secret de ce lieu est qu'il met encore en évidence les anciens systèmes de gestion de l'eau datant de la fin du XIe siècle.
Vous serez conduits ensuite aux quartiers des artisans où vous apprendrez sur le forgeron, les cuivrers, les créateurs de cuir, le caftan, les tailleurs de tunique Jellaba , nous aurons une vraie famille d'herboristes de cinq générations pour un aperçu sur l'art de la cuisine, de la guérison et des cosmétiques....
La Medersa Ben Youssef était une université d'hébergement plus qu'une simple école islamique.Elle présente des exemples étonnants de l'architecture marocaine traditionnelle et des carreaux géométriques complexes, mettant en valeur l'habileté et le savoir-faire des artisans de cette époque du 16 ème siècle.La cour centrale, avec sa belle fontaine et ses décorations ornées, est une caractéristique particulièrement captivante de la medersa. À l'intérieur, vous pourrez explorer les petites cellules étudiantes qui abritaient autrefois les savants et admirer les sculptures détaillées, le travail du stuc et la calligraphie ornant les murs. La salle de prière, avec son élégant mihrab (niche de prière), est un autre point fort de la medersa. Visiter la Medersa Ben Youssef offre une occasion unique de remonter le temps et de découvrir la riche histoire et la splendeur architecturale du Maroc. Cela vaut vraiment le détour si vous vous intéressez à l’art et à l’architecture islamiques ou si vous voulez plonger dans le patrimoine culturel de Marrakech.
Nous terminerons la visite à la place Jamaa el fna célèbre pour les spectacles et les spectacles en fin d'après-midi et en soirée quand il change pour un restaurant en plein air .Ce lieu magique unique est une fête des sens et classé par l'Unesco au patrimoine immatériel mondial des humanités.

We booked this walking tour of the Medina with some hesitation – traveling with three young children (9, 7, and 4) can be unpredictable – but it turned out to be the absolute highlight of our week in Marrakech. Our guide, Redouan Adib, was simply outstanding. From the moment we met in Jemaa el-Fnaa, Redouan made everyone feel at ease. He has a natural gift for storytelling and was very knowledgeable. He adjusted the pace perfectly for little legs, stopped whenever our youngest needed a break, and somehow turned every corner of the souk into an adventure. What could have been an overwhelming maze felt safe, fun, and utterly enchanting under Redouan’s guidance. He shared the real life of the Medina – not just the tourist sights – and his passion for his city is contagious. We laughed, we learned, and we left with hearts full and dozens of incredible photos. If you’re visiting Marrakech with kids (or without!), do yourself a favor and book this tour with Redouan. It wasn’t just a tour – it was pure magic. Redouan was amazing. He was very accommodating and flexible with the tour. He changed it as we went based on out interests. He also showed us some hidden gems in the big market to get good quality products that we alone couldn’t have found. We had a great time. We learned the history of Marrakesh and Morocco and visited some of the major sites in the old city. We took the tour on our first day in the in the city and that gave us a good orientation and ideas for more exploring.
