6,7,8,9 heures du matin, nous commençons votre visite à Alexandrie, la deuxième plus grande ville d'Égypte, capitale de l'Égypte pendant près de mille ans. Alexandrie a été fondée par Alexandre le Grand qui a une atmosphère plus méditerranéenne que moyen-orientale et est célèbre pour ses vestiges romains.
Votre premier arrêt dans cette ville historique sont les catacombes qui sont le plus grand cimetière romain composé de trois niveaux creusés dans la roche du 1er ou 2ème siècle.
Le « pilier de Pompée », également connu comme la colonne commémorative la plus vénérée d'Égypte, constitue un symbole d'importance historique. Façonnée à partir de granit rouge massif, cette structure colossale atteint une hauteur stupéfiante d'environ 28 mètres, tandis que sa base affiche un diamètre impressionnant de 2,7 mètres. Ornant la partie supérieure du côté ouest se trouve une inscription inscrite dans l’élégante langue grecque. Cette inscription rend hommage au estimé empereur Dioclétien, connu pour son engagement inébranlable en faveur de la justice et son rôle de gardien d'Alexandrie. Il reconnaît également les efforts monumentaux de Postumus, l'estimé préfet d'Égypte, qui a supervisé l'érection de ce magnifique monument. Par sa grandeur et sa pertinence historique, le pilier de Pompée témoigne du riche patrimoine et de l'héritage durable de l'Égypte.
visite de l'extérieur veuillez noter que : La citadelle de Qaitbay à Alexandrie est considérée comme l'une des places fortes défensives les plus importantes d'Égypte et de la côte méditerranéenne. Au XVe siècle après J.-C., il était indispensable aux fortifications d'Alexandrie. La Citadelle se trouve à l'entrée du port oriental, à la pointe est de l'île de Pharos. Il a été érigé sur le site du célèbre phare d'Alexandrie, l'une des sept merveilles du monde antique. Le phare a continué à fonctionner jusqu'à l'époque de la conquête arabe. Plusieurs catastrophes se sont produites et la forme du phare a été quelque peu modifiée, mais il a continué à fonctionner. La restauration a commencé sous Ahmed Ibn Tulun (environ 880 après JC). Au XIe siècle, un tremblement de terre endommagea la partie octogonale. Le fond a survécu mais ne pouvait servir que de tour de guet, c'est pourquoi une petite mosquée a été construite au sommet. Au XIVe siècle, un tremblement de terre destructeur détruisit l'édifice. arrêt facultatif pour déjeuner au marché aux poissons
La Bibliothèque d’Alexandrie était l’une des bibliothèques les plus célèbres et les plus influentes du monde antique. Il était situé à Alexandrie, en Égypte, et a été construit au troisième siècle avant JC par le grand souverain Ptolémée I Soter. La bibliothèque a été conçue pour abriter une vaste collection de livres et de manuscrits, notamment des ouvrages sur la philosophie, les mathématiques, les sciences et la littérature. Elle devint rapidement un centre d’apprentissage et de culture dans le monde antique et son influence s’étendit bien au-delà d’Alexandrie. La Bibliothèque d'Alexandrie était réputée pour son immense collection de livres et de manuscrits. On disait qu’il contenait jusqu’à 500 000 rouleaux et qu’il constituait l’une des plus grandes collections de connaissances du monde antique. La bibliothèque abritait également plusieurs érudits et penseurs célèbres, dont le mathématicien Euclide et l'astronome Eratosthène.

Our tour to Alejandria was an absolutely wonderful experience, especially as a couple traveling together. Ahmed was knowledgeable, engaging, and shared fascinating insights while making us feel comfortable and cared for throughout the journey. Also took great pictures of us. Meanwhile, Maged ensured a smooth, safe, and pleasant ride, which made a big difference in how enjoyable and stress-free the trip felt. We had a memorable time in Alexandria because we have the best tour guide Ehab Mehana and our driver Maged. We were picked up from our hotel and drove about 3 hours to reach our destination. Ehab is sensitive to our needs, giving us time for toilet or coffee breaks. He has very good command of the English language. He didn’t rush us in any place , he gave us enough time to explore and even volunteered to take our pictures. He is very knowledgeable and can answer all our questions. Best of all a very patient guide with many years of experience. It shows how much he is enjoying his work . By the end of the day he is like a family to us .Hope to see him again someday . We had a wonderful trip to Alexandria with our driver, Shadi. He was punctual, professional, and very friendly throughout the day. The car was comfortable, and he drove safely, which made the long drive very pleasant. Shadi speaks excellent English, which made communication very easy and helped everything run smoothly. The travel to Alexandria while long (2.5 hours) , it was quite smooth. We got to see all the key sites (the catacombs , the citadel, the library and the Pompeii column) and Fady our guide was quite helpful and patient.

I only booked the driver. The driver Karim is friendly and responsive. He drove safely and took us to different points at Alexandria, and allowed us some free time to explore. He also took us to a seafood restaurant for lunch. Thank you for arranging everything.

A really disappointing day, the driver to Alexandria took 5 hours due to fog and when we arrived the tour was cut short so we could get back to Cairo. There was no discussion regarding the tour being cut short and theee was no reason for us to be back in Cairo at 5pm. I felt the whole experience was a rip off and couldn’t recommend this to anyone.
