We hiked up through what seemed to be jungle and mountain and saw amazing views of Arenal Volcano. Must wear hiking shoes as some of the rocks are slippery. For the waterfall, you will walk down about 250 steps, swim in the waterfall (which is cold) and walk back up. The waterfall is beautiful.
Hola Gabrielle! Thank you so much for sharing your experience. We’re really happy to hear you enjoyed the hike through the jungle and mountain and got to take in those amazing views of Arenal Volcano. We truly appreciate you sharing your helpful tips about hiking shoes and the waterfall steps; that kind of advice is super valuable for future travelers. And yes, the water can be cold, but the beauty of the waterfall makes it totally worth it! Thanks again for joining us, and pura vida!
I thoroughly enjoyed this tour. Jose was an excellent guide, very knowledgeable, giving us good information on the plants and wildlife that we saw on our hike. He also has good humour and is an excellent photographer. The waterfall was great fun! I was determined to swim, which I did, so I felt really exhilarated afterwards. Not everyone in the group went swimming, it was personal choice. There are 500 steps down to the waterfall and then, of course, 500 steps back up! However they are in short sections and there are places to stop, sit and rest on the way. Lunch was a delicious, traditional meal. Very big portions, which was too much for me to eat. I definitely recommend this trip.
Firstly, the tours were easily arranged through our hotel and the logistics were handled seamlessly. Angelica was a wonderful guide for all of our tours - Arenal Volcano, La Fortuna Waterfall, and Hanging Bridges. She was extremely knowledgeable, super nice to my 3 young children, and showed us a great time! We met such great people in our group as well.
Hi friend! It is a pleasure for us to know that you had a great time as we had it with you! At the same time we hope that you could learnt from their knowledge. ¡Pura Vida! See you next time :) Thank you for choosing Green Vacations Costa Rica!!
Great hike, watch your step! Waterfall was amazing, you have to go in the water! But watch your step! Take your time climbing the 500 steps, it’s not a race. Pura Vida
We did the all day excursion that included a hike around the volcano, walking across the hanging bridges, lunch and a trip to the La Fortuna waterfall and we loved everything about it! Erika was the best guide we have ever had! She taught us so much, took pictures of our family, kept us on a schedule to avoid crowds and just made the day really fun! She even helped serve our food and clean off the tables at the local Soda. She was amazing! Thank you Green Vacations for an awesome day in Costa Rica!
This was a good trip overall. The views, guide and lunch were great. However, I feel it was overpriced.
My wife and I booked the 3 in 1 tour (Hanging Bridges, La Fortuna and Arenal Hike). It was an outstanding day. Our guide was fantastic. We also had perfect weather. This day was our best we have had in Costa Rica (2nd time to Costa Rica. Definitely do this tour if you’re in La Fortuna area.
Hello friends nothing better than a good comment to know that things are being done well. Thank you very much for giving us the opportunity to be part of your vacation and thank you very much for your comment pura vida hector hernandez
We had a full day of fun with Rebecca and Joel who were incredible. Out guide (Rebecca) had great energy and was super knowledgable about all the history, flora and fauna around the volcano. We learned a lot and even got to see 2 sloths and a Toucan :) The views were incredible and we ended with a lovely lunch. 100% recommend it!
We all really enjoyed this action pack day tour. Martin was our very knowledgeable guide. Martin absolutely made this so memorable. If we would not have had a guide, we would have never seen so many interesting animals. As we would hike along the nice path, Martin pointed out a tarantula, an iguana, toucans, white hawk and many other rare finds. Some of the hike was steep climbing, which we were fine with doing. It was a perfect day!
This tour started with the hike, which is initially through the forest, climbs up to where the landscape opens out and then follows an old lava trail up to a look out point. Roy was our tour guide; he is knowledgeable, helpful, fun and takes much better photos than most other members of my party! The walk was at a suitable pace for all ages and levels of fitness within our group of 6 and did not feel overly strenuous for anyone due to the appropriate speed and rest stops. The weather cleared as we walked so we got some nice views when we got to the top, although the volcano was still hiding behind some cloud. Next we headed for the waterfall which is stunning and worth all the stairs, you need to take your swimming gear as it's lovely to get in the cold, clear water at the bottom. It is a climb back up to the top but there are benches to rest on if necessary. We had a quick change and headed off for our lunch which is a traditional meal of rice and beans, mashed potatoes, plantains, veg and either fish or chicken. It was hearty and filling and we all enjoyed going somewhere in town for lunch as opposed to eating in our hotel. We never felt at all rushed during the tour, in fact it lasted about an hour longer than we had initially been told when we booked it. I would thoroughly recommend this trip.
