Having a driver in Sri Lanka is very convenient. The first 4 days were with Gayan’s cousin. As a driver, Gayan was taking us to the places we wanted. As a tourist guide, Gayan would not come with us to the touristic place, only dropped us and waited around his car. Therefore, you need to count for example 40-50€ for a guide in Lion rock and 20-30€ for a guide in Polonnaruwa. The only 2 times Gayan came with us out of a 12 day trip (Pidurangala rock and Dambulla temple), he was not providing information. He would only answer the questions but not explanation about his country/culture would be provided if I did not ask. He was knowledgeable about the trees and farming we would see on the road. Hence, half job done, half rating.

The Sigiriya and Polonnaruwa site guide fees are around 20 - 30 euros and I have already paid 30 euros for your Polonnaruwa site guide fee. In addition, I have paid for you when you went to other places. That does not include my total taxi and driver expenses. I charged only for the vehicle and driver. So I stay in the car because sometimes I drive more than 150 km a day and I need a break. I charged you only for the vehicle and driver. Therefore, I kindly request you to think for a moment while writing such reviews and write only the facts. Thank you 🙏
Thanks to Gaian we had an amazing day! He is so nice, funny, helpful and smiling:) We spent 10 hours with him for a very decent price and then he took us to the station. We loved the day. He knows all the nice views, nice places and spots for beautiful photos! And he recommended a great restaurant
D&D tours and Gayan are the best in the business, we were so lucky to travel around Sri Lanka with him. Gayan made our trip and honeymoon. Gayan's driving was particularly safe which was a bonus. Gayan showed us some of the best bits of Sri Lanka and became a good friend by end end of our two week trip. Anyone traveling around this beautiful country, you should have Gayan take you around!
It was an amazing and indeed a safe ride to Horton Plains. There were ample of views. The tour guide was so friendly and helped us to capture many lovely views with our friends. The few hours spent there was a different experience.

He showed us and explained everything about Nuwara Eliya and about the Horton plains and also hiked with us up to the End of Word! If you’re planning to visit this place and want someone to drive you and show you around, experienced and helpful, this is your guide!!
We booked a day tour with Gayan during our visit to SriLanka. It was super convenient for us to visit many of fantastic places in short period of time. Horton planes tour was one of a kind and we enjoyed a lot. Gayans communication was very good and we highly recommend him for safe and comfortable tour.
