Wonderful guide!! Took us to really neat areas unique to Auckland and many stops for pretty views from high up and several chances to get out and stretch out legs.

Was just the right amount of site seeing, and given we were wiped out from our flights, Sam helped to keep it shorter than normal for us. It was the right amount of, not too much!

Good points: - Our tour guide, Sam, was friendly and attentive. He communicated well with us prior to the tour. - It was a small tour of only four people - Sam drove us around in a very nice Tesla and showed us five spots Not so good: -Although his Tesla was nice, it was uncomfortably small for four people. None of us are large people at all yet it was a tight fit in the back seat. If anyone had been heavier, would not have been tolerable. -Sam’s English was subpar at best so it was quite difficult to understand what he was trying to say. I believe that a tour guide claiming that his tour is in English should be proficient in the language. - He lacked sufficient knowledge about Auckland so he was unable to answer basic and simple questions about what we were seeing. -At the end of the tour, Sam heavily pressured us for a tip. His behavior at this point was rude and completely inappropriate and made us quite uncomfortable.

We booked this tour because we had been to Auckland several times before and wanted to see something different. Sam did not disappoint. He contacted us the day before to confirm the meeting point. After picking us up, he took us to the various stops. At each stop he provided interesting background information and took pictures which he sent to us at the end of the tour. At each stop, he knew the best picture spots to best capture the experience. He noticed my husband was having some mobility issues, so offered to customize the tour to accommodate him. He was also very good about minimizing the amount of walking he had to do. We ended the day at Mission Bay with ice cream from Movenpick. What a wonderful way to end the day!

I only had a short time in Auckland and this half-day tour was the perfect way to experience the city’s highlights without feeling rushed. The small group size made it feel more personal, and our guide (Sam) was excellent—knowledgeable, friendly, and full of interesting local insights and history that added real depth to the experience.
