La ville de Colonia del Sacramento, capitale du département de Colonia, est située entre 2h30 et 3h de voiture de la capitale du pays, Montevideo. Gardez également à l'esprit que comme il s'agit d'une visite quotidienne, vers midi déjà dans la ville de Colonia del Sacramento et au milieu de la visite, les passagers ont entre 1,5 heure et 2 heures de temps libre pour leur déjeuner. L'offre gastronomique de la région est variée et de bonne qualité. De plus, notre guide peut vous recommander certains endroits pour faire de même.
Visite des seules arènes existantes d'Uruguay, inaugurées en 1910. Après des années d'abandon, elles ont été rénovées et restaurées pour être rouvertes en 2021 en tant que centre de divertissement et musée.
Le panneau de Cologne, surplombant le fleuve, est un incontournable pour les touristes avec une vue magnifique sur la côte et une partie de la ville. Un endroit spécial pour prendre des photos.
La Puerta de la Ciudadela marque l'entrée de la vieille ville coloniale. Construit pour la fondation de la ville en 1680 par les Portugais, il constituait les seuls points d'entrée et de sortie de la ville fortifiée au milieu d'une dispute entre les couronnes espagnole et portugaise.
Construit en 1857, son sommet offre une excellente vue sur la ville, ainsi que sur Buenos Aires par temps clair. A côté se trouvent les ruines d'anciens bâtiments et devant l'ancienne place centrale du centre historique.
Il naît sur la Plaza Mayor et continue en pente jusqu'au Río de la Plata. C'est la rue la plus caractéristique de la ville avec ses maisons pittoresques et historiques et ses pavés particuliers.
Construit au XVIIIème siècle pour les hauts fonctionnaires de la ville, C'était le siège près d'un siècle après le lieu de l'attribution du titre de vice-roi du Rio de la Plata à Baltasar Hidalgo de Cisneros. Aujourd'hui restauré et fonctionnant comme un musée.
Construite en 1680 dans le cadre de la ville historique, d'abord en terre et paille, puis en chaux et pierre, sur le versant de la Plaza de Armas, c'est la plus ancienne église construite en Uruguay.
Profitez de ses excellentes vues sur la ville et le centre historique, ainsi que de certains des voiliers et yachts qui y sont amarrés.
Visitez la plus grande collection de crayons au monde. Dans ses couloirs, vous trouverez également le plus petit crayon du monde, ainsi que des crayons offerts au propriétaire du musée par le directeur de Faber Castell lui-même. Vous pouvez également trouver des cendriers, des porte-clés, des épinglettes, des flacons de parfum et bien plus encore ! Il est également possible d'acheter des produits d'épicerie typiques uruguayens.

Our guide of Le Club VIP Tour was Gonzalo, who brought us safely and on time to Colonia. Gonzalo, from Le Club was awesome. We booked this just the day before as heard Colonia was worth the visit and it was. But as had never been to Uruguay, getting a private tour was the way to Go. Gonzalo is friendly, personable, and knowledgeable. He helped us learn more than a bit about the country and the city. He also was great in asking what we wanted to do, and shaped the day to us, including adding a trip to the Winery in the afternoon (worth it). I recommend him to everyone.

We had an excellent day in Colonia de Sacramento with our guide and driver Gonzolo. He picked us up at the appointed spot and quickly began to tell us about Montevideo and Uruguay. He had wonderful stories about sights along the way to Colonia. In Colonia, we walked through the colorful and historic streets while learning of the town’s Portuguese history. He also took us to the former bullring that has been beautifully repurposed as a performing arts center. After a visit to the lovely church, we were given free time for lunch and further exploring. Colonia is historical and picturesque, a nice break from Montevideo and Buenos Aires. On the drive back we stopped at the pencil, key chain and ashtray museum. It sounded a bit corny, but was actually a great stop and good conversation topic. We would highly recommend Gonzolo and his company, Le Club, when you are in Montevideo.

Interesting tour with a variety of activities — history and enjoyable scenery/gardens. Favio was a knowledgeable, enthusiastic guide. It was very obvious he loved sharing the history of this area with others. The pencil museum on the way back to Montevideo was a fun stop and included much more than pencils.

Our trip to Colonia was absolutely perfect, thanks to Gonzalo as our guide. He ensured we got there safely and took the time to give us a detailed tour of the area upon arrival. We truly appreciated having free time to enjoy lunch and explore on our own. He was incredibly attentive to our needs, answered all our questions, and highlighted key landmarks during the 2.5-hour drive from Montevideo. This was our second day with Gonzalo, and we couldn’t be more impressed. Highly recommend this tour!

We chose to take a private tour to ensure we got to see as much of Colonia as possible and not be rushed by being part of a bigger group. Gonzalo picked us up on time and was very knowledgeable about everything on our route. He was very chatty and able to tell us about things we passed and was also happy to talk about life in Uruguay. He said he would be happy to stop or take detours if there was anything in particular that we wanted to see, but we were happy to be guided by him. When in Colonia, he showed us the old square but also took us out to see other parts of the town and the old bull ring, again explaining how Colonia had developed. We then returned where he left us for three hours to look around at our own accord and enjoy some lunch. We would recommend Gonzalo to anyone visiting Montevideo who wants to get out of the city and see a very different way of life.
