The gentleman of the private tour was very kind and professional; he took us to the tour locations with good detail and calmness, highly recommended.
Driver picked us up on time from the hotel. Driver/guide was more like an uber driver. He drove us to our destination and waited for us in the car. He did not know any history or facts of the places we visited. He was caught dowsing off while driving. He took us to a beautiful restaurant sat with us to have dinner and was quick to order his favorite dish and TWO ALCOHOLIC beverages. When the server brought us the bill he left without paying his meal. On our way back to the hotel he was on his phone texting most of the time. Worst driver/tour guide ever.
The tour was interesting. Going to the resting place of the most famous mariachi and visiting Lake Chapala and surroundings is a great day trip. However the lack of communication made it difficult. Our guide didn’t speak a lot of English so he couldn’t give us a lot of information. While going to the attraction point I heard a lot of guides giving more explanation. The guide was a wonderful driver and extremely nice and polite but the lack of communication was a problem. I would suggest him to improve his communication skills and then he be great.
Our tour guide Juan Carlos was great !!We had a great experience on all of our stops . He was very helpful took us to the n ice destinations we really enjoyed having him as our guide for the entire day . I highly recommend him!!!
### Excellent Private Tour with Juan Carlos - Tonalá, Chapala, and Vicente Fernández We recently enjoyed a private tour with Juan Carlos, visiting Tonalá, Chapala, and the Vicente Fernández estate, and it was a fantastic experience! Juan Carlos was incredibly patient, giving us plenty of time to explore each location at our own pace. While the tour was more about transporting us from place to place, Juan Carlos did share interesting tidbits about the history of some churches along the way. One highlight was his recommendation for a fabulous birria place, Los Chololos, which did not disappoint. We left there fully satisfied! If you're looking for a tour that allows you to see multiple destinations comfortably and enjoy some great local food, Juan Carlos is your guide. Highly recommended!
This was a last minute selection for Nee Years day. The trip was great! Our tour guide provided details while driving and dud his best considering some places were closed because of Nee Years. It was worth the trip and all locations are incredible with lots of sculptures and art! Lots of shopping you!!! Avoid restaurants close to the lake in Ajijic. Very bad customer service!
This tour was fantastic! I booked this for my family (mother, brother, and his wife) to celebrate my mother's birthday and I'm so glad I did! I had seen some other options but instead of going around with a big group as we had already done, I thought a personalized trip would be better - no waiting for others, no stops we don't care for, and we were able to move through the stops as we saw fit without having to worry about exact meet-up times, etc. The tour was completely customizable so we were able to change the time, add some stops, and turn it into the perfect day tour for us. The host, Juan Carlos, was very easy to work with, knew stops off the beaten path and made excellent suggestions. He was patient with us and truly made the experience one that we'll always remember. I will definitely take this tour again the next time I'm in town because Juan Carlos knows his way around so well that I know he'll be able to suggest even more sights and attractions that we didn't have time for. 100000% recommend, don't hesitate to book this!
My friend and I booked several tours for our two week stay traveling around Mexico. This was by far the worst. We basically paid for a taxi to drive us around. We booked an English tour and our guide did not speak any English. Neither my friend or I are Spanish speakers so this definitely made the tour tricky. He said he would use a translation app to help, but that never happened. I understand we booked this tour late, but we should have been told ahead of time that we were not going to have a tour guide who we could communicate with. I give this review 3 stars instead of 1 because it was nice to be able to see areas that we never would have been able to see had we not gone on the tour. All in all, we paid for a taxi ride.
We really wanted to see Lake Chapala and Carlos took us to many towns and neighborhoods. He allowed us all the time we wanted at each stop.
