Une belle sortie en voiture de Londres vers l'ouest et la chance de découvrir trois époques entièrement différentes de la longue histoire de la Grande-Bretagne, des dandys de l'élégant Bath du XVIIIe siècle, en passant par la culture civilisatrice des Romains jusqu'aux lointains et mystérieux peuples néolithiques avec leur incroyable temple céleste de pierre lourde. Nous avons également l'occasion de visiter certaines des plus belles campagnes d'Angleterre dans une Mercedes confortable.
Visitez la belle Bath dans toute sa splendeur Regency. Très aimée des dandys et des smart set, elle abrite une abbaye majestueuse, une université distinguée et bien sûr les célèbres thermes romains. À l'arrivée, nous prenons un rapide trajet panoramique, en veillant à inclure le Royal Crescent et Circus, deux des joyaux architecturaux de Bath, et certaines des propriétés les plus recherchées du pays. Nous nous garons ensuite au centre et promenons-nous dans l'abbaye historique, largement épargnée par la réforme d'Henri Vlll, avant d'explorer les thermes romains, qui sont étonnamment intacts et abritent l'un des meilleurs musées d'Angleterre. Ici, le culte de la déesse, Sulis Minerva, a eu lieu pendant plus de 400 ans d'histoire romano-britannique. Stoll (peut-être s'arrêtant pour le déjeuner en cours de route) à travers les belles rues jusqu'à la maison Beau Nash, roi de Bath et dandy en chef, il était un coureur de jupons invétéré, un joueur et un créateur de tendances.
Visitez peut-être le site le plus ancien et le plus mystérieux d'Angleterre. Un temple, un calendrier céleste et un lieu de sépulture sacré en un. On croyait autrefois avoir été conjuré de l'ouest par Merlin, mais maintenant révélé par la science moderne, il a été transporté de son site d'origine au Pays de Galles par l'homme néolithique, à environ 150 milles par pure détermination et force musculaire. Explorez la vie telle qu'elle était pour certains de nos premiers ancêtres découvrables, des gens comme vous et moi, qui ont établi la sagesse des âges avec leur connaissance intime du soleil, des étoiles et des saisons. Visitez leurs maisons simples et découvrez les outils avec lesquels ils ont créé leur monde. Lancez à nouveau votre force sur les puissantes pierres de Sarsen et voyez combien d'entre vous il faudrait pour en déplacer une. Regardez à travers un paysage inchangé depuis que les pierres y ont été placées pour la première fois il y a quatre millénaires et demi.

Took the Evan Evans tour from London to Stonehenge and Bath. It was lovely. Our guide Peter and driver Rad were amazing - friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. Mark was a fabulous guide! Witty and wicked fun sense of humor. He is So well versed in everything Stonehenge - he was better than any audio guide. Our experience in Bath was perfectly lovely as well. He found a nice Italian place for us to dine prior to the Abbey. And he was happy to take a few detours for us so we can take in as much as we could in one day! Next time I am in London, we will call him specifically for a different tour!
Very glad to share my enthusiasm for the mysteries of the ancient stones. I probably get a bit over excited about things like massive holes in the ground that aren't even there any more! Yes its lovely at The Square in the square. You get a view of the Abbey, the pump room and, if you're lucky, some great live music from one of the buskers. We even had a laugh trying to escape Bath in the rush hour. Do you remember the scooter girl!?
We had an amazing time touring Windsor Castle, Stonehenge, and Bath. Mark arrived on-time and added historical insights for each location. Our trip included an excellent picnic lunch provided by his wife Diane. It could only have been better without the rain. The next time I travel back to London I will plan another tour with Mark.
Oh you guys were utter stalwarts on the day, especially your Mum. Thank goodness the owner of the cafe there took pity on us and let us eat our picnic in there. I remember the other diners looking up from their mere sandwiches agog, while I handed out the mini champagne and quails eggs. Thanks to your true brit style stiff upper lips we still managed to make a great day of it :)

Fantastic tour with a sparkling guide, Marc was very knowledgeable and kind, he showed us the most interesting spots and told us a lot of interesting facts and anecdotes. I highly recommend him!
What a fantastic day visiting Windsor Castle and Stonehenge. Mark is a great tour guide, extremely knowledgeable and friendly. He is also a courteous driver and his car is extremely comfortable. I will definitely connect with him again on our next visit to London…and suggest you should also.
Mark took us on an excellent tour of Stonehenge and Bath. He's a courteous and careful driver, in a super comfortable Mercedes. He even checked in with us the day before to make sure we were all prepared. He guided us through the museum at Stonehenge, explaining the history and highlights. After a little lunch at the cafe there, we visited the outdoor exhibit and then we took as much time as we wanted stroll around Stonehenge, grabbing all the photos we needed. After a short drive through the lovely countryside, we visited Bath. First a drive around the city and then we parked and visited the Bath Abbey where we able to listen to the choir prepare for the evensong. Afterwards, we had a nice dinner at a nearby cafe. It was a pleasure meeting Mark and having him guide us through these amazing sites. We highly recommend this private tour.
