Cette statue en bronze de l'homme à cheval s'appelle Physical Energy et est l'œuvre de l'artiste britannique George Frederic Watts (1817 - 1904). Watts avait des idéaux très élevés pour son art, et voulait que son travail aide l'humanité à embrasser le progrès. L’Énergie Physique est une allégorie du besoin humain de nouveaux défis – de notre instinct de toujours scruter l’horizon, regarder vers l’avenir. Selon les propres mots de l’artiste, c’est « un symbole de cette impulsion physique agitée à rechercher l’inatteint dans le domaine des choses matérielles ».
Le nom du parc provient du manoir de Hyde, qui était la sous-division nord-est du manoir d'Eia (les deux autres sous-divisions étaient Ebury et Neyte) et apparaît comme tel dans le Domesday Book.
Les Jardins Italiens sont un mélange élaboré de quatre bassins principaux. Elles présentent des rosaces centrales sculptées en marbre de Carrare, la fontaine Tazza en pierre de Portland et marbre blanc, ainsi qu'une collection de statues et d'urnes en pierre. Voyez si vous pouvez repérer les cinq principaux dessins d'urnes - une poitrine de cygne, une tête de femme, une tête de bélier, un dauphin et un ovale.

En janvier 2017, les fils de Diana ont commandé une statue de leur mère pour le palais de Kensington afin de commémorer le 20e anniversaire de sa mort. Ian Rank-Broadley a exécuté la statue.

Excellent tour guide sharing history and insights. High tea was amazing. This quite a long walk so please be aware. The grounds are exceptional.
This was an absolutely lovely experience. Our tour guide, Doug was incredible. We viewed the grounds and learned the history of this Palace prior to enjoying our tea and treats. The scones were sensational and all of history behind this beautiful place made the experience so enjoyable. Having the personal touch of a private tour guide was a great bonus. We would highly recommend this experience and are so appreciative to Doug for making this afternoon so memorable for us.
Tour guide Doug Cooper was excellent, engaging and informative. We went on a very nice walk around the gardens along with an educational discussion of the history and activities of the gardens and the palace. Doug also sat with us for tea and explained the customs and background of high tea.

Doug was exceptional! His knowledge of the palace and surrounding park were outstanding and he kept us engaged throughout our time with him. Highly recommend this tour for anyone wanting to be immersed in Hyde park and Kensington palace surrounding including a finish with a beautiful tea service. Very easy to find starting spot. Our guide was already there waiting. Our guide, David took us through Hyde Park pointing out all of the highlights of this beautiful space. Things we would not have known on our own walking through. He was funny and knowledgeable about the park and surrounding area. He did well with our questions. I would definitely recommend this tour for anyone wanting a nice stroll in Hyde park to get hungry, followed by a beautiful and yummy tea service. And if you want to really know how tea is done in Britain, ask your guide to stay for tea service and share a tea and meal with someone who will entertain you with stories through the whole service. Fantastic, one of a kind experience!!!
