This is the most amazing way to experience Shanghai and Lucy is the best ever guide. Lucy took us to the most delicious little restaurants where the locals eat and the food market where the locals shop. It was so interesting to taste the flavours and learn about the culture. We finished at Shanghai Tower with amazing views of the city. We recommend Lucy to all travellers to Shanghai for an authentic and enjoyable tour. Thank you Lucy
Lucy was an informative and entertaining tour guide! We really enjoyed her recommendations, and she was very friendly. Overall a fantastic experience!
We arrived in Shanghai last night and our food tour has been our first ever experience of China. Michael looked after us so well. He was friendly and knowledgeable, guiding us to some unforgettable local experiences. All of our food tastings were delicious and have set us up for our China adventure excited to try lots more delightful foods.
Did this tour on or arrival in Shanghai. Forgot to let them know that my husband doesn’t eat Pork yet our guide Lucy was super accommodating. She found great food stops that we loved. The view from the Shanghai tower was the perfect ending.
Linda was delightful! She met us in our hotel lobby which was very convenient for us since we just arrived in Shanghai and was not familiar with the city. She knew the area well and all the best places to go for delicious food, some of which were off the beaten path and we would never have found on our own. We tried steamed dumplings, fried dumplings, noodles, moon cake, lamb kabobs to name just a few. She even bought us fresh oranges from a fruit stand that I admired! We learned a lot about the area as well. We really enjoyed our time with Linda. The only complaint was we were too full to eat desert, but no worries, we got it to go and enjoyed it later in our hotel. I would highly recommend this tour and Linda as a tour guide!
What better way is there to experience a city like Shanghai than to enjoy its authentic traditional cuisine? Steamed buns of different varieties, traditional pancakes, fish ball soup and the list goes on. I was smart enough to have skipped breakfast so I had ample space to enjoy these culinary delights. Lea was an awesome guide and took time to arrange an authentic culinary experience. Then great views from the Shanghai observatory tower ( don’t miss this) followed by traditional Chinese tea tasting in the old city. Five star experience with Lea. Highly recommended!
Annie was an excellent tour guild and took us to many places to try many different foods. Some were not to our likely as Brits but all good quality
My review is not so much with the tour but the lack of ownership in regards to a refund. My tour was booked through booking.com, not Trip advisor and was cancelled the day before the tour was to take place due to the guide being sick, which I can understand, they offered to transfer tour to another day but unfortunately I couldn’t make that work so we agreed to cancel the tour and Sunny Tours said they would refund me my money in 5-7 business days. It has now been 14 days with no refund. My bank and visa have advised me that no attempt has been made by any of the involved parties, (sunny Tours, Viator or booking.com) to refund the money for the tour. All parties have gone quiet and are not responding to emails. This review is more to do with making people aware that if your tour is cancelled you may not get your money back and not the quality of the tour. That I cannot comment on
Our tour has been wonderful. Shanghai dumplings are the best. Annie is the best tour guide we’ve ever had during our trip in China - she’s helpful and kind, but at the same time very respectful and unobtrusive. Thank you Annie we love hanging out with you!
We thoroughly enjoyed our evening food tour with Lily and would highly recommend this tour, and Lily, to anyone interested in learning more about the tasty delights of Shanghai. We met Lily at a conveniently located spot in the heart of the city, in the People’s Square area. She brought us to several fantastic spots in easy walking distance from each other. We tried pastries, dumplings, noodles, soup, skewers, pancakes and a very delicious desert. Lily was a joy to be with. She was excellent company and highly knowledgeable about the food and culture of Shanghai. There was a nice diversity of dishes, and it helped that we were able to walk around a little bit between trying food so that we could make it possible to eat more! We left the evening feeling very full and most contented. Taking this tour with Lily was a great opportunity to sample culinary delights that we probably would have been too under-confident to try ourselves. Huge thanks to Lily for a truly enjoyable and tasty evening.
