Au cours de cette visite privée, vous visiterez Catane - la "Ville noire" faite de lave du volcan voisin Etna. Cette visite est privée - uniquement pour votre groupe, personne d'autre, afin de garantir les normes les plus élevées pour nos clients, et comprend la prise en charge et le retour à votre hébergement ou au port de Catane. Avec votre guide privé sympathique et informatif, vous verrez les sites les plus importants de Catane, apprendrez son histoire intéressante et parfois tragique, parcourrez ses magnifiques rues baroques, visiterez des parcs incroyables et dégusterez la cuisine de rue traditionnelle de Catane - arancini - de délicieuses boulettes de riz farcies de ragoût de viande et petits pois.
Vous commencerez la visite privée à pied de Catane par une visite du célèbre marché aux poissons de Catane (ouvert jusqu'à 13h30, sauf le dimanche) - la "pescheria" la plus grande et la plus colorée de Sicile et probablement même de toute l'Italie. Vous verrez (et pourrez sûrement aussi acheter si vous le souhaitez) de nombreux types de poissons et de fruits de mer et ressentirez cette atmosphère authentique du folklore du sud de l'Italie.
Ensuite, vous marcherez jusqu'à un ancien monument normand : le château d'Ursino, construit au XIIIe siècle comme château royal du royaume de Sicile. Ensuite, la visite se poursuivra dans la rue principale de Catane, Via Etnea, regorgeant de bars, de restaurants et de boutiques.
Continuez à marcher sur la charmante Via Etnea, vous arriverez à la place du Duomo - la plus grande place de Catane. Ici, vous verrez le symbole de Catane - la fontaine des éléphants, et visiterez le joyau de la barogue sicilienne et du patrimoine de l'UNESCO - la cathédrale - l'église la plus importante de Catane avec une statue de la sainte patronne de la ville Sant'Agatha.
En suivant la Via Etnea, vous arriverez à la Piazza Stesicoro et verrez les vestiges de l'ancien amphithéâtre romain.
Vous visiterez la Villa Bellini - magnifique jardin municipal aménagé au 19ème siècle regorgeant de belles plantes et arbres, de monuments et de fontaines. Ici, vous verrez une étonnante horloge botanique faite de fleurs. Ensuite, nous nous arrêterons dans l'un des bars "rosticceria" les plus anciens et les plus célèbres où vous dégusterez des plats de rue siciliens originaux - les arancini - de délicieuses boulettes de riz farcies de ragoût de viande et de petits pois. Après la visite privée à pied de Catane, votre guide vous déposera à votre hébergement ou au port de Catane. L'itinéraire peut varier en fonction de votre point de prise en charge dans la Via Etnea.

We had booked the Etna tour, but due to rain it was cancelled. As an alternative we opted for the Catania tour. It was a positive choice. Our guide was friendly and explained the whole history of the city. It was a journey through Roman times to the Baroque. During the tour we also tasted arancini with meat sauce and pistachio. It was a learning experience for our children as well. Characteristic and fun is the fish market, wonderful is the cathedral of Santa Agata.
We had a wonderful tour of Catania with our tour guide Elena. She was so very interested in making it a great experience. She was extremely knowledgeable about the city and we learned so much from her. We also got to try local food, desserts and beverages. However, this tour is challenging from a walking perspective so only choose it if in good shape and prepared for walking. All in all, a wonderful day in Catania.
First day of our vacation in Catania and can’t recommend this tour enough! See the sights you want (and more), walk and get a lay of the land (so much to see/do in the immediate area) and best part is Elena, our fantastic guide! We were very pleased with this tour. Fabio, our tour guide, was outstanding, Extremely knowledgeable, accommodating, entertaining and friendly. He selected a great lunch place where he picked the dishes and wines for us to taste at a restaurant called "Razzmataz". Interesting name but food and wines were great and excellent service. We loved all of the sites that we toured. We loved Fabio!
