Mary was our guide for the second time and, once again, she blew us all away with her storytelling abilities and knowledge of the history of Cambridge. I lead groups of U.S. college students to England and Mary adjusted her tour to all of our students’ academic interests and majors. In a group of 14, she made the tour feel individualized to each one of us. What a treasure she is. I’d love to double the amount of time we spend with her next summer so that we can learn from her for a couple of hours before lunch AND a couple of hours afterwards. My students agreed with me that we’d love to spend all day walking around Cambridge while listening to her tell us more about this fascinating town.
Mary was wonderful! My group was listening so carefully to all the points Mary was sharing with us!
There is nothing better than visiting Cambridge with someone who can get you into otherwise inaccessible places and who has a deep knowledge of Cambridge history. With Tony’s energy and charm, 1½ hours leaves you both educated and entertained. Thank you, Tony, for a wonderful tour today!
Mary our tour guide took us to many of the prime locations in Cambridge. This being just before the exam season meant many of the colleges were not accessible but we did gain access to one and saw many from the gates. Mary had a broad knowledge of the history of the town and the colleges as well as significant alumni who had graduated; with many famous names from the past, several quite recent. Excellent guided walk.
Tony was great! We learned so much and in a fun way. Thank you!
Did the tour through University Arms hotel. I visit Cambridge often for work and this was my first opportunity to do a proper walking tour. Our guide was Tony and he was phenomenal! Funny, satiric, and deeply knowledgeable. Was fun and interesting, replete with British humor and easily kept the entire group's attention! Would heartily recommend.
We had a fantastic private tour with Mary on February. As first-time visitors to Cambridge, we couldn‘t have asked for a better introduction to this beautiful city. Mary was warm, friendly, and immediately made us feel welcome. Throughout the two-hour tour, she shared fascinating stories about Cambridge’s history, its famous colleges, and the scientists and scholars who studied here. We especially appreciated: · Clear and easy-to-understand English – Mary spoke at a perfect pace, which was very helpful for us as non-native speakers. Our son also enjoyed practising his listening! · Excellent knowledge – From the Old Cavendish Laboratory to the Eagle Pub, Mary brought each sight to life with interesting historical details. · Perfect timing – We had pre-booked our King‘s College Chapel tickets for the 11:00–11:15 slot, and Mary smoothly incorporated it into the tour. The Chapel was breathtaking! · Flexibility and local tips – Mary also gave us great recommendations for the rest of our day in Cambridge. If you’re looking for a knowledgeable, kind, and professional guide for your Cambridge visit, we highly recommend Mary. Thank you, Mary, for making our first Cambridge experience so memorable!
Dear Tom, Many thanks for posting such a full and glowing review. I'm so glad you enjoyed Mary's tour and I hope that the rest of your visit went well. It was a pleasure corresponding with you. Thank you once again for booking with us. Best wishes, Chris
This tour was absolutely fantastic. Our guide was Tony, and he kept us informed and amused throughout. He had immense knowledge of dates and facts, and kept testing us on what he'd said, which was fun. We walked at a sensible pace, and the walk culminated at a pub, which Tony gave us a discount card for.
