Au pied des Alpes, vous serez enchantés par le charme et l'architecture pittoresque de cette commune qui n'a pas subi le passage du temps. 800 ans d'histoire et de culture régionales rencontrent des extraterrestres oscarisés et des sculptures bouddhistes. La ville historique de Gruyères, ou Greyerz en allemand, a conservé jusqu'à nos jours son aspect médiéval. L'ancienne résidence comtale est située sur une colline au-dessus de la Saane. Le château du XIIIe siècle est aujourd'hui un musée retraçant huit siècles d'architecture, d'histoire et de culture régionales. Le château Saint-Germain voisin abrite le musée HR Giger, qui expose l'art fantastique de l'oscarisé et créateur d'Alien. Au milieu de la ville sans circulation se trouve le Musée du Tibet, ouvert en 2009 et qui abrite plus de 300 sculptures, images et œuvres rituelles bouddhistes provenant de diverses régions de l'Himalaya. Le charme de la ville impressionne également par son excellente gastronomie et sa laiterie de démonstration moderne.

I booked this reservation by mistake because I believed the price was displayed in my local currency. As soon as the payment went through, I realized the error and immediately requested a cancellation through TripAdvisor while also contacting the tour operator directly. Only a few minutes had passed since the booking was made, so there was no impact whatsoever on their operations or ability to resell the reservation. Despite this, the operator refused to cancel the booking or offer any reasonable solution. I even proposed receiving only a 50% refund, but that was also rejected. In the end, I did not take the trip, yet I was charged the full amount. What disappointed me most was not the mistake itself, but the complete lack of flexibility and willingness to help resolve an honest error made within minutes of the purchase. My advice to future customers is to be extremely careful when checking the date, time, and currency before confirming a reservation. Based on my experience, this is not an operator that is willing to negotiate or work with customers when unexpected issues arise, even when the request is made immediately after booking.
Thank you for your feedback. We understand that booking mistakes can happen; however, the circumstances were not as simple as described. Your reservation was made at approximately 7:00 PM for a tour departing the following morning. Although our office normally closes at 7:00 PM, our team remained available until after 9:00 PM to organize your last-minute booking. We contacted the driver and guide on call, finalized operational arrangements, and prepaid the required attractions and entrance tickets to ensure your tour could operate smoothly the next day. When you requested cancellation around 10:00 PM, these arrangements had already been completed and costs had already been incurred. For this reason, we were unable to cancel the booking free of charge or offer a refund outside the agreed cancellation policy. We always strive to assist our guests whenever possible, but we must also honor commitments already made to our staff and suppliers. We appreciate your understanding and wish you the best in your future travels.

As a mother and daughter traveling solo to Switzerland, we so appreciated our private tour with Normands, who gave us an intellectual and entertaining appraisal of Swiss culture, as well as many interesting points of fact regarding Gruyère. We were treated like near-royalty at every stop, and so enjoyed not having to “think on our feet,” but only to sit back and enjoy the journey. Note: you will Not be hungry after this trip!

David was fantastic! He even came and did our tour on his day off when it was his country’s national holiday. The chocolate museum and cheese factory were so fun (and delicious!!) for us and the kids. And then he dropped us off in the charming Gruyère village where he recommended the best place to get the best fondue for lunch!
